I love everything about this book! The quilts, the projects and the title! It's been in my collection now for almost a year. That makes me sad because I want to do it so bad. I had an idea....
Does anybody else have this book and maybe want to work together on it? I can divide it up and we can do a section a month? Sort of like a Block of the Month? I just figure the accountability will keep me on task. And I plan on making a little porch time this spring and summer and I can't think of a better quilt to work on.
Here's a photo of the quilt I found online. The designer is Lynda Hall at Primitive Pieces by Lynda.
Leave me a comment if you'd like to work together this coming year on it.
YES! I have this book. I have made 2 of the blocks. I have pulled all the fabric to make this quilt and there it sits, in a nice pile so please, please count me in.
ReplyDeletethanks
I love the quilt--I just don't do the applique thing, so I'll sit on the porch and watch. As a child we used to end most summer days sitting out on our porch, or on the front lawn of our elderly neighbors. Who does this anymore? I miss it so!
ReplyDeleteHi Lori! I haven't commented in a long time, but lurk, still. :-) I have this book, too and love the quilt. I'd be in, but not until at least June because my daughter is getting married in May and I'm a little busy right now... ;-)
ReplyDeletedear lori,i have the book ,too, and would love to make this quilt,so count me in,susi
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt too I am so tempted but. Have a hard time with committing. Let me think about it.
ReplyDeleteKathie.
Oh Lori, this would be fun! But TWQ is taking up my time and it is an applique project. Also, don't have the book, but looks like one I would like! Looking forward to sitting on the porch and watching the progress!! We love sitting on our porch! Wish the computer was out there!! LOL not really it is so nice to sit and do hand work on the porch!
ReplyDeleteBlessings
Looks like a great project!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt, and will think about a commitment. Plaids always make the most charming quilt. Anne is doing the BOM from another book on plaid houses, I'm crazy for wanting to do it all. Wasn't the weather fantastic this weekend, we baked at Boyce Corral, hmmmm, so wonderful. You also had quite the thundercloud going over you just as we were leaving, quite the light show.
ReplyDeleteOhhh another fun quilt to make. I will join the other lady and sit on the porch and work on my Farm Fresh quilt. I have little twinkle lights around my porch so its very enjoyable to sit and enjoy the evenings....
ReplyDeleteThis sounds wonderful, count me in. Wish I had a porch to sit on but I do have a lovely back patio.I'll join you there...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt! Unfortunately, I don't have that book. I'll be cheering from the sidelines. :) Have a happy day!
ReplyDeletea very cute quilt and a very tempting thought~!!~
ReplyDeletei don't have the book . . .
. . . and should really concentrate on making steady progress on some works already in progress.
darn-it anyway.

I'm in...at least I've got my toes in the water, and maybe even up to my knees! Looking forward to the beginning of a nice, relaxing sit on the porch. Marei
ReplyDeleteHi Lori,
ReplyDeleteOn my doll quilt blog, I just posted a picture taken on my front porch this morning! I don't have the book, but I'm tempted. Let me think about it. It's a beautiful quilt.

I have the book and made one block a while back. It is brighter than I would like it to be. I have to decide whether to keep it in the mix or make another block. I will try to keep up with you.
ReplyDeleteohhh, ummmm, welllll, Good lord, why do you lead me into temptation! I have the book, so I should make it, right? OK, I'll follow along, I just can't promise to keep up.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't have the book! I love the quilt, though...I want the book! See how this goes? I just cannot resist things!
ReplyDeleteI have the book and fabric. This is the perfect motivation for me. You can count me in!
ReplyDeleteSure, I'd like to join. Believe it or not, I am embarrassed to say, I signed up for this one as a BOM and never did it, put the scraps in my scrap bins, then bought it as a kit from Buggy Barn. So I must want it!
ReplyDeleteDarling quilt. But can't commit to another new project! Hope you get some fellow quilt along gals to work wit you. It always make a project even more fun doing it that way.
ReplyDeleteHhhmmmmm..............I barely started this last year and put it away. Maybe I could get it out again after some projects get out of the way and in the finished pile.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a lovely project Lori! I don't have the book, but I will be watching with great interest as you and your quilting team work your way through it - I particularly love the prim look of this quilt!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a wonderful quilt, I made it last year as a BOM with others on a Yahoo Prim group. We posted photos as we finished a section and that kept us all going. Enjoy doing your own quilt. Please be aware there are a few corrections available to cutting block sizes etc. I can give you a copy of them if you want.
ReplyDeleteI would love to make the quilt, I too need accountability so this would be a help for me too...
ReplyDeleteWow - what a project!! It will be wonderful to watch your progress with this quilt.
ReplyDeletewhat a fun and happy quilt. Love the feel and colors.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great book. should be a fun group project

This is really neat, Lori. I love quilting so I totally enjoy the charm. So much so that if someone loved me to give me one (said with a smarty pants eyes rolling tone) oh… I'd treasure it and use it. But at the same time - it's not my thing. It might be too much work. Right? I can sure enjoy going along with everyone though. I have an open heart …just in case. I mean, you never know. *karendianne.
ReplyDeleteLori I've been wanting to make this quilt for a long time. So I saw your post and I just ordered the book from Amazon. It will be hear by Friday. So I will be ready to start then. Thanks for having another great sew a long. Hugs
ReplyDeleteHi,I don't have a blog but read you blog regularily. I have started this quilt. I have the right hand column A started. However I am making some changes for instance I didn't care to make Auntie Bean"s Stalks and have done a house block witn and anel instead. Can I still play if I don"'t follow the pattern exactly?
