The only thing we will do for step two is some cutting.
From your red cut eighty (80) 1 1/4 squares.
Grab a variety of dark 1 1/4" strips and cut:
twenty (20) 2" strips
(20) 2 3/4" strips
(20) 3 1/2" strips
(20) 4 1/4" strips
Ah, admire your handiwork!!
The only color I didn't use for the strips was red . I saved that for the "trail".
For those of you doing A Little Porch Time Quilt be ready to show last month's sections next week!!
I agree he is cute! Have a fun weekend!!
ReplyDeleteHe is cute. I am tracking the quilt along and looking for some time to join in. Sew busy right now with work and holiday prep.
ReplyDeleteI love this little quilt and would love to join your QAL. As soon as I finish up a couple of things, I will. Until then, I'll just watach and enjoy.
ReplyDeletecute cat! So far I'm trying to resist your quilt along because I have soo many things going. If I get my Jubilee borders together I'll treat myself and join in.
ReplyDeletehave you finished our little challenge? I have to do that too!
I'm going to pass on this quiltalong. It is very tempting, but I have too many other projects in the queue. The wool cat is goofy cute! I can see the opportunity for many variations.
ReplyDeleteBig kitty grins to you, right back! I am all over this, Lori...cutting away!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds so simple. If I was smart I may be able to think ahead. But I'll have to see how much painting I get done. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteCute kitty; thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit behind, but hope to catch up over the weekend.
I can't believe I am behind already. LOL Love the cat!
ReplyDeleteAll done and ready to roll...thanks for the fun!
ReplyDeleteI stayed up late sewing 4 patches last night - they were fun to make! But cutting... 160 pieces... I don't think I can do it without a little sewing :0) The cat is very cute!
ReplyDeleteI love this little quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteI will be saving the instructions. I have sooo much to catch up on after being away for a month!
Cute, cute kitty!! Four Patches are done and I'm ready to cut.

ReplyDeleteAm enjoying this quilt-along and especially the great instructions - not overwhelming. Tried looking for the Halloween Cat pattern and couldn't find it. Thought this would be a great project for my kids. Can you hook me up?
Terry
Terry, send me your email address, please, and I'll send you the pattern.
DeleteLove the kitty. I followed link. Lots of fun stuff. Had forgotten @ that site. I could not locart the freebie pattern. Sometimes search on phone isn't the best. I'll try to find it when i get to my laptop.
ReplyDeleteYour pattern qal is super cute. I'm behind in christmas sewing & knitting, so book marked it for the first of the year. Would make a lovely doll bed quilt if made with repro feed sacks, as long as the values were different enough. Thanks so much!
i like the little cat, i have the pattern but haven't made it...yet!
ReplyDeleteOkay, so I'm in for my very first quilt along! Got my four-patches made last night (using PURPLE for the focus!) and started cutting the strips . . . . . :-)
