Mountain Trail Quiltalong Part 2

I had to show off my goofy wool cat. I found it on Pinterest as a freebie on Bird Brain Designs website.
The only thing we will do for step two is some cutting.

From your red cut eighty (80) 1 1/4 squares.
Grab a variety of dark 1 1/4" strips and cut:
twenty (20) 2"  strips
 (20) 2 3/4" strips
 (20) 3 1/2" strips
(20) 4 1/4" strips

Ah, admire your handiwork!!
The only color I didn't use for the strips was red . I  saved that for the "trail".

For those of you doing A Little Porch Time Quilt be ready to show last month's sections next week!!

  5. I'm going to pass on this quiltalong. It is very tempting, but I have too many other projects in the queue. The wool cat is goofy cute! I can see the opportunity for many variations.

  7. Sounds so simple. If I was smart I may be able to think ahead. But I'll have to see how much painting I get done. Thanks again!

  11. I stayed up late sewing 4 patches last night - they were fun to make! But cutting... 160 pieces... I don't think I can do it without a little sewing :0) The cat is very cute!

  14. Am enjoying this quilt-along and especially the great instructions - not overwhelming. Tried looking for the Halloween Cat pattern and couldn't find it. Thought this would be a great project for my kids. Can you hook me up?

  15. Love the kitty. I followed link. Lots of fun stuff. Had forgotten @ that site. I could not locart the freebie pattern. Sometimes search on phone isn't the best. I'll try to find it when i get to my laptop.
Your pattern qal is super cute. I'm behind in christmas sewing & knitting, so book marked it for the first of the year. Would make a lovely doll bed quilt if made with repro feed sacks, as long as the values were different enough. Thanks so much!
