Jubilation of my Jubilee

Here is my Jubilee top with the four borders attached!
The zig zag looks bold and heavier then the spikes, so I may add a small cheddar border to the spikes to balance it out.
There is no right side up, but I wanted to see the difference with the borders.
I'm not sure when I'll get to it, but there is lots of room for quilting!!

  1. You done good, Lori! A wonderful quilt to celebrate your 50th year on this earth. The center is the part I like best but it all works well and is so your style.

  6. Wow! Beautiful! How big is it? It looks very large. How will you baste it? I've notice on the hand quilting project I'm stitching on now that I didn't baste it well enough.

  15. Wow. So clever of you to make a quilt to commemorate your 50th. I love the center the best, too, but those flowers and leaf in the urns are so ornery and artistic!

  20. I am in AWE! Sure wish I would've thought to do something like this when I turned 50 - maybe I could start now and make a 60th birthday quilt - wonder what I would call it? Anyway, congrats on your progress - it looks really, really good!

  22. I am sooooo happy for you!!! And so jealous at the same time, that so many things have taken precendence over my Jubilee. I will get back to it - you have inspired me!! Lori, this is truly beautiful. I do think a small cheddar would balance perfectly. I love the date and initials - I just might have to copy that :) if you wouldn't mind.

  37. It is stunning Lori, I can hardly believe my eyes. Love the different borders and think you are right about a little bit of yellow to go with the spikes ;-) Might use a two coloured binding for it. Yellow with the spikes and green with the sawtooth...
