A lovely white carpet of snow. I decided against risking the drive, especially that early in the morning. We were heading to Portland that day anyway to celebrate hubby's birthday with our kids.
I took these photos when I got out of bed later.
Our first stop was Fabric Depot. I was a woman on a mission.
I zoomed right in on the Sewline threader! I was so thrilled they carried it.
What a lovely wall full of notions....everything 30% off over the weekend. Even better!!
Here's a a family mug shot before going out to dinner.
You never know what you'll find in Portland, Oregon!!
A winter wonderland! I love snow. Glad you found the needle threader and on sale, too. Portland sounds like a fun city.
ReplyDeleteoh the snow looks so pretty, I LOVE snow but this year not sure I want any snowstorms.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to DH, so tell me do I need that threader too, why do you like it so much?
and yes I need a threader all the time now :)

It is a shame that you missed the pj party, but glad you decided to stay safe.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a wonderful day and party with your family.

Love the snow shots. I can almost smell that wonderful east-of-the-mountains smell and feel the tingly cold in my nose. Too bad you missed the PJ party in Sisters, but it looks like you made up for it at Fabric Depot.
ReplyDeleteOh brrr, but it looks so pretty. Glad you found the needle threader. You will have to do a review on it for us.
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks so lovely! Let us know how you like the threader and happy birthday to hubby. Looks like a great family celebration.
ReplyDeleteGreat mug shot and the view of the snowy mountains looks like something from a Christmas card,
ReplyDeleteGlasses are the next thing I fear my friend. Lol
I miss Portland sooooo much...Saturday Market...and especially Fabric Depot. I love their Veterans Day sales.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found the threader. I have yet to need the replacement gadget on mine. I probably should buy it though...just in case. We have snow that is staying too - so pretty.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great celebration.
I love Portland too - would like to go back someday. Lucky you!
The photo you took on your walk does look like a Christmas village scene.
ReplyDeleteI think I would have gone back to bed, too!
I love Portland--Powell's and Saturday Market were two of my favorites.
I guess I need to break down and get a needle threader. Hard to face that fact. : )
The snow looks so beautiful! I love it when I can just stay in and look out at how pretty it is! Glad you found your needle threader and even better that it was on sale. Hope you had a great time with the kids.
ReplyDeleteI really love the Clover desk needle threader - so much I bought a second one for my travel case, and one for a friend. I've seen the Sewline threader shown on a quilt show, but haven't tried that one yet.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty!! It is just cool and windy here, with a million leaves swirling through the air...loved your family mug shot! I too all of the sudden need glasses to thread...who knew this would happen, LOL!!
ReplyDeleteI have seen a few reviews of that needle threader and it is definitely on my list. It all looks so pretty in the snow. Just wet here, again. I guess there was agood reason for the mountain bike art.
ReplyDeleteI left my Clover needle threaded with mom when I left CA last month. It was the original brown one. As soon as I got back home I used my coupon at JoAnns and got a new pink one. I've used them for years and can't go without. Brrr snow! It's hard to believe Winter nearly upon us. Great looking crew btw.
ReplyDeleteOhhh lucky you, snow..... Its cold out, need to bundle up and go workout after all my cookies....
ReplyDeleteBaby it's cold out there......I just called my gal pal in GV and asked if there was snow yet. It is that time of year! Fabric Depot is a great "one stop" if you are traveling with non quilters, hope you had a great family dinner,
ReplyDeleteLori, love the picture of you with the kids! What a great occasion. Sorry to see the snow already....
ReplyDeleteWhat's with the bike sculpture? Oh winter--so pretty, but it does slow you down. Looks like you had fun, tho you had to get dressed!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you found what you wanted at FD. I love that place! Your snow photos are beautiful but I'm glad I don't live in it. Brrrr!!!
ReplyDeleteSomething so peaceful about snow, love how it covers everything making the landscape pristine.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your threader as much as I enjoy mine....some days I just can't thread a needle to say my life!
Oh looks like a fun time with the family, love all those smiles :0)
Happy Sewing
Looks beautiful....Portland is such a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteWondering if you were singing "walking in a winter wonderland," while you were out for your walk... so pretty!!! Isn't weather wonderful? 76 degrees in Des Moines on Saturday... high of 38 degrees today! Alway nice to find the sewing tool you are looking for, especially on sale! Cute family!!!

ReplyDeleteDisappointed there are no photos of you in your PJs - nevertheless you looked great for dinner - glad the pjs were gone by then!
ReplyDeleteTell us your views on the threader - I may yet have to succumb!
Please give a report on your opinion of the threader after you get a chance to try it. Lucky that you found it in the shop and at a sale price!
ReplyDeleteGreat mug shot.
ReplyDeleteI like the funky stuff you see in Portland. The bike pile is fun and funky for sure.
