Doll Quilt Swap 2

My received quilt from Pia
Last March I hosted a doll swap and as far as I was concerned it was a huge success! There were 60+ participants and only one complaint of a poorly constructed quilt.

I'm going to start with this: If this ONE person signs up, I will tell you that you were the one that did a crappy job on your quilt. It isn't fair when you receive a quilt with lots of thought and care but you give something very disappointing.
This workmanship is not acceptable.

Here's the rules:

24" x 24" or smaller. (It doesn't have to be square), Civil War reproductions, a label, with a deadline of mailing by May 30th.

If you cannot (for whatever reason) send international please let me know.

If you are interested please send me your full name, mailing address and if you do NOT want an international partner. loridweightwatchers@gmail.com
I will send you your swap partner soon.

You do not need to have a blog to participate, but I would prefer if I know you or you are a regular commenter on my blog.

The swap is now closed

  6. Those are TWO of the reasons I don't participate in swaps anymore!! I used to do so many block swaps and got so much CRAP back I finally gave up. And I would NEVER want anyone to be disappointed in what I sent (but I'd never send anything like that picture! :-)

  7. I sat and stared at this for the longest time trying to decide if I would cave. But sanity wins this time--the deadline is too close to when I go to NH to help DD#1 with the new grandbaby. Adding one more thing between now and then probably isn't too smart. Looks like great fun, though!

  10. OK, I'll cave too. I LOVED the piece I got back from my swapper last time, and I loved the one I made so much that I made a second one for myself, so I got two out of the deal! And I really need another project to do!

  15. How I wish! I've got too many other obligations with deadlines and I'd stress knowing this is just too short.

  17. The binding on this quilt bothers me on several levels. When I look at it, I see possibilities. I see the possibility of an inexperienced quilter whose desire to participate was greater than her ability. I see the possibility of an elderly quilter whose eyes and hands no longer cooperate the way they once did. I see the possibility of a disabled quilter who longed to participate in the outside world. I see someone who was eager to join in and meant no malice. Whatever the reason for the problems with this binding, I don't think public humiliation benefits anyone - other than to make people too afraid to try. It certainly does not encourage anyone to attempt something new and challenging. Too many of us revel in our good health, good fortune, and good friends, and don't know that what we really have is just good luck.

    1. Nobody was named in my blog post and all of your possibilities are not why the quiltmaker made her quilt in the way she did.
PS a longer reply was made in an email to the commenter.
