No quilting since earlier in the week, but here's my Instagram feed if you are interested.
I have started my training cycle again and feel it is really important for me to keep moving and practice a little self-care. (My friend Juliann calls it that, and I like it!) Self care also includes a cold beer after a long hot day!
My focus now is to try and enjoy the present (not the past or the future) with my mom and try and make however much time she has left as easy and pleasant as possible.
Thanks for continuing this journey with me.
My best to you today. Take a little downtime, you deserve it.
ReplyDeleteI like that terminology too. Yes...tey to enjoy the present...hard to do, I know. Have great day and enjoy the quilt show tomorrow. Wish I could come over.

You cannot change the outcome, only the present. As for the past, I remember taking a photo album of my mother's Yellowstone honeymoon in to her one day. She enjoyed looking through that and reminiscing. A good day. My prayers for are with you. Cwoosley12@yahoo.com

ReplyDeleteAlthough I am not always so good at it, I do think self care is really important, especially when you are going through a hard time. I truly hope the time you have left with your Mum is wonderful, and leaves you with some happy and comforting memories.
ReplyDeleteMy mother swore that sharing a cold beer each evening was the secret to her happy marriage, lol.

Sending prayers.

We are dealing with some health problems of my husbands. I find the following quotes helpful.
ReplyDelete"Worrying about what comes next steals the pleasure of the now."
"You can't change the past, but you can ruin the present by worrying over the future."
You take care,
Charlotte
