These first few are pieces the teacher, Becky from Shibori Dragon brought to class this week.
I love everything about this vintage Boro bag!
Here is her sashiko sampler.
And here is the start of mine. The photo is completely washed out. The fabric is a lovely cotton linen blend.
I love the stitching in the first picture. It's the way that it goes in all different directions and sometime curves. It opens up a lot of possibilities for stitching. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a very fun class. Wish I was there!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Connie :)
I know nothing about Sashiko, but the stitching looks mesmerizing!
ReplyDeleteNice work, Yours looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteHave fun, wish I was there too...

Boro and sashiko really peak my interest. I bought a sashiko kit from Shibori at a local quilt show. Wonder where it is 😉
ReplyDeleteNice job!! Looks like a great class you took!
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to learn new things and it looks great!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a wonderful time at these classes. I think you'd love the book Quilting with Japanese Fabrics by Kitty Pippen. I just found a used copy on Amazon, and it looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI took a Sashiko class 20 some years ago. I don't remember actually doing anything with what we practiced on. I do like the look and look forward to what you do with yours.
ReplyDeleteI love the stitching in the top picture so much. It looks a little addictive actually!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of Sashiko and have been meaning to try it for some time now. I bought the needles but that is as far as I got so far. I think I need a book and some stencils to get started.
ReplyDeleteYou made tiny beautiful stiches, Lori! I would try sashiko...
ReplyDeleteOh, I like it too!
ReplyDeleteLots of texture in these examples, so interesting. Your stitches are beautiful, Lori.
