I was testing a 12" 8 pointed star and decided to try some solids. Wow! I love it! I'm hoping to get the other 4 points done this weekend.
Here's a link to a new video- HERE I think it comes in better when you aren't watching it through the blog.
It is from 8-12 Pacific Time.
Have an amazing weekend!!

ReplyDeleteGreat, inspiring video, Lori. I just finished a string quilt that is currently on my bed. Now I want to use up some of my scraps and make another one. Thanks!

ReplyDeleteI loved your video! String piecing is the most versatile piecing of any; I love it!
ReplyDeleteI did the same string star in solids - 4 for the center of a medallion - in a Gwen retreat. They haven't progressed any further.
ReplyDeleteI’d Love to see it and I’d love to know what you used as the background fabric. I haven’t decided on that yet.
DeleteI enjoyed watching your video. I also love all of your String Quilts. That solid String will be a stunner!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rainbow star!
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about solids? So striking in these string blocks!
ReplyDeleteCan I ask where you got the pattern, or if it is yours? I'm doing a presentation at our guild on string quilting and I'd love to do one up and reference your site.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hi Joolz, You can take any pattern and turn it into a string quilt! The diamonds I did are a lemoyne star.
DeleteGreat video! Love all of your string quilts but especially the last one. I need to make one of those soon.
ReplyDeleteSo enjoyed your video! Love your new strip star in solid colors! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun to see the string-a-long quilts. Great video!
