On Friday I picked up my daughter in Portland wand we went to visit my SIL and niece. All four of us went to the Puyallup Sewing and Stitchery Expo. Here is Bird Brain Designs booth- Love them and their adorable designs.
You wouldn't know it by looking here that the economy is still flat in the Pacific Northwest. It was busy and crowded!!
Messy Karen- hand made!! At a Christmas bazaar I just bought a crocheted (or knitted, I can't tell!) wash cloth and then I won these. I use them all the time. Thanks Karen!!
The lovely red fabric is from Christine. It's going to be perfect for my Just Takes 2 quilt. I have to say I am so disappointed in the directions, but will keep moving forward with it.
That's it for this Monday. I still hope to show you details of my Jubilee quilt this week!!

That show looks like there was plenty to look at. So glad you and Renee had a good time!
I love the berry borders! Can't wait to see this one all at once.
Looking forward to seeing your big finish!! Perhaps 6months from now? Kidding!
Love that border and thanks for taking us to the show! It sure was packed!
can not wait to see what your doing! border looks great...you did such a great job keeping up with this quilt. I am so jealous I didn't join you in that journey..to think I would have had a beautiful applique quilt.

Looks like it was a wonderful show. Your applique is marvelous.
You were at Puyallup? One of my sewing guru is/was there too. Looks quite happening and Bird Brain Designs are one of my favourite shops! Love their freebies ... okay I'll be the first to admit I'm cheap! LOL!!
Your border is beautiful, Lori.
The Sewing expo looks like it was a fun time. I am sure time well spent with your daughter :)
I have fond memories of the Puyallup Fair......sometimes I really miss the NW. And yeah, those vendor booths were packed! Wow!
Can't wait to see your progress pics on your Jubilee!
I had to baste my king size quilt in the fellowship at church! LOL
Glad to see high attendance at the show - ours is coming up at the end of the month. Always love the Birdbrain booth - they have the best ideas! LOVE your quilt border - what a great finish to your fabulous quilt. Some of the ladies in the hand quilting class are doing their own machine basting. I may try it on a smaller quilt...

You and a few others are very disappointed in the instructions. I'm glad for others that we have a group, I can figure things out, as I know you can, but it can really put one off from moving forward. I'm not caught up, but not as far behind on JT2 as I was a week ago.
Looks very busy at the Expo!
Beautiful border! Congratulations on finishing. The basting job hire out sounds like a great idea. I love a crafty show and it seems lots of others do too :)
How exciting to have finished your border, Lori. Isn't that a euphoric feeling?
Looks like a good time in Portland. I love it there.
Looking forward to seeing what you are doing for your Jubilee quilt.
Awesome - so looking forward to seeing that quilt Lori! It is going to be fantastic I know! Do you know how you are quilting it yet?
Must get back to my applique quilt - 2 borders to do and no good reason for not getting it done!
I think when the economy goes south, we start crafting! Your Beyond the Cherry Tree is going to be fabulous.
Border is lovely, spring is coming... lay that quilt out on the dry grass outside and take a picture for us :)
Congratulations on finishing the berry borders!! It is going to be an awesome quilt. Ohhhh that shopping trip looked like so much fun. Perfect getaway!!
I read about the Expo on another blog and wondered if it was close enough for you to attend? There is a quilt show soon here. I hope there is an interesting vendor or two. Something new and exciting.
You are sooo close to having BTCT finished and it is going to be another beauty! The show looks like lots of fun - were there any treasures that made their way home with you?
That show looks like lots of fun. I love those giant hexies in your photo.
Happy stitching
Hi Lori, Love your border. I know you are glad it's finished. What size cherries did you use?
It's such a happy looking border with all the berries :0) I can't wait to see your completed top!! I'm curious too - about how they will baste it for you. What the basting stiches will be like and if it's easy to pull out later. Can't wait to see your Jubilee progress!
i can tell already that the beyond the cherry tree quilt is going to be one of my favorites.
:-)

Someday, I'm going to the show in Puyallup. How was it?
Love the cherry applique...so pretty!
Love your border and am looking forward to seeing it all put together.
How satisfying to complete those borders! You would need a gymnasium floor to baste it, but who would want to. Machine basting is great. I remember crawling around on the floor, and aching for a couple of days afterwards.
Love your berrie borders! The Expo looks very busy~ but fun! Hope you had a good time!
Your border looks lovely, I can't imagine what a big job the basting would have been if you'd tackled it. I think I might bow out ot the takes two challenge, it's a lot of blocks.
congrats on finishing #4 -looks great Lori.
That expo looks too fun for words.
The border for your Cherry Tree quilt is looking just gorgeous, I can't wait to see the whole top!!!
