Welcome Spring!

I made a few quilt changes around my home to reflect the change of seasons. Down with "Let it Snow"!!
Welcome spring2021! Looking forward to a year of hope and freedom.

Liberated baskets started in a class with Gwen Marston.
A springy quilt designed by Cheri Payne.

These 2 daffodils popped out over the weekend! Great timing!!
I was out on a short local hike yesterday and heard the sweet melody of the western meadowlark.  (which happens to be Oregon's state bird) Always means spring is here!
I hope you can hear him! He is at the top of the tree

And then we did this thing.....

We wanted to camp, but we didn't want it snowing too much, which it did. Making memories with friends- I love that!

On International quilting Day I put these little freebie quilt pattern on the facebook group. For those not on facebook I didn't want to leave you out.

The blocks will finish at 3" the quilt 12x18.

Have a springy week!

  2. The meadow larks have been outrageous here in NE Oregon as well... MANY near our meeting place at the local Grange (yes, it is in between two cow pastures and we love it) They are VERY VOCAL! As always, thanks for all you share :)

  5. Thanks for posting the birdsong. I haven't heard one of those for years. When we first moved here it was more rural and as the years have gone by the houses have moved in. The birds have found another uninhabited space to sing.

  6. The meadow lark song is delightful!
Oh, I can't believe your snowy camp. That is a memory that won't soon be forgotten!
Love the little vintage doll quilt. Maybe I will keep it in mind for a future monthly mini.

  9. Happy Spring -- Your house was decked out beautifully for spring even if it didn't really look like Spring on your camping trip! That's Mother Nature for you. Keeps you on your toes.

  11. It really is starting to look like spring here too! Trying not to be to excited, cuz I know we probably have more cold weather coming.:) Love that first basket quilt especially. The way you filled in the background with darker prints instead of more of the lighter fabrics is a great look! Will have to remember it for the future!

  12. Impressive how you camp out in the snow! Love snow but to sleep in a tent when it's cold...... a bit to adventures for me. Your quilts are darling.

  14. Camping in the snow, you are so brave! I copy and pasted your info on the quilt makings for later onto my computer. Just got home from hospital with my new hip today! So it will be some time before I'll be putting the petal to the metal on my machine.
