Who Doesn't Love a Nine Patch?

I'm sure I've said before "This is one of my favorite quilts." Just so you know I have more then ONE favorite quilt. My favorites are my favorites for different reasons. Some for the memories of the times and places they were pieced, others just make me smile and give me a warm fuzzy feeling. (hmmm, I think wine does that too!)
This is a warm fuzzy feeling quilt. I was in a 9patch block exchange but didn't want to do what I generally do and use muslin as alternate squares. I was inspired by 2 different quilts. One was an ad in the Australian patchwork magazine and the other was a quilt hanging at the Sisters show. The quilts were so colorful and had such a variety of fabric to enjoy that I got the idea to set my 9patches with Civil War reproduction prints.
I machine quilted it in a large Baptist fan pattern which I also think was perfect for this busy quilt.

  3. When you machine quilted the Baptist Fan, did you stop and start at the end of each curve or stitch over previous stitching to get to the next curve?

  10. This quilt is great! It is a perfect idea to use pieces of my many repro fabrics without using them all up. I might have to try something like this myself. Thanks for sharing.
