This was my second Trip Around the World quilt. I am really happy with this one done in Civil War repros.
I took a class from a gal in Sisters and she had a fast method for piecing your squares. We put the whole thing together in quadrants. (like a quarter square triangle)
The first one I did in autumn colors and had bigger squares- I guess I didn't like it enough to take a photo.
I'm not sure I'd make another one but I'm glad I have this one.
I made a Trip Around the World once and that was before I knew anything about how to make a quilt. My sister asked for the quilt a long time ago and I have no picture. There were no shortcuts in making the one I did. I don't remember how I did it. And my mother picked the fabric.
ReplyDeleteStunning, as all your quilt post!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt. It looks like it's been in your family and passed down. Fabrics make all the difference sometimes in quilts. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your quilt. I started a trip quilt that is all civil war repros, but that one is still in "quadrants."
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt, Lori. Love the reproduction fabrics in this pattern.
ReplyDeleteI've never made one but I have heard of easy ways to do it, I just don't know what that is. I know what you mean when you say you wouldn't make it again but love that you have it.
