I managed to get the binding sewn down this past weekend on the doll quilt! I decided to hand quilt it so now I feel like my quilt stitch is warmed up enough to get out my Dear Jane and continue with some hand quilting on it too. Hmmm, I'll see if I can get more then 5 blocks quilted this fall/winter!
If you are a new reader to my blog you can see the old quilt I copied on this post.
This is so cute. Approximately what size is it?
ReplyDeleteI admire to do hand quilting BIG TIME because I'm afraid to
What a sweet quilt, Lori. I'm presently working on my Dear Jane blocks. I'm just about finished row 5. With DJ, it's one baby step at a time. Do you have a picture of your DJ quilt on your blog?
ReplyDeleteOh Lori I like it a lot...
ReplyDeleteOh Lori...you got me with this little one the first time I saw it! It's truly a keeper!!

ReplyDeleteI love both the original and your reproduction -- such beautiful, classic quilts!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea with the lemoyne block..I have a few that didn't make the cut in the quilt. I think I can make a couple and put them in our Mini quilt auction.
ReplyDeleteIt's just a darling little thing.
I am more afraid of the machine quilting then the hand quilting.
oh Lori I really Like this little quilt A Lot
ReplyDeleteand I am happy that you hand quilted it
great fabric choices too!

Your doll quilt looks so great! It has all the color and texture of the one that inspired you in the first place.
ReplyDeleteI love that little quilt! It's a great showcase of a lot of different fabrics. Did you hand piece or machine piece? Your quilting stitch looks great; very even.

You did a really nice job copying the little quilt. I love making doll quilts - I get to try new patterns, new fabrics, new techniques, and finish in a reasonable time! And of course, my dolls always appreciate them which makes my granddaughter happy.
