Many of you commented on this quilt when I had the photo as my blog header. I resized it in EQ to be a doll quilt. Oh, I just love how it's turning out!!! I thought it would be fun if any of my blog readers would want to do it as a quilt-a-long? I know Kathie said she would do it (sight unseen, I might add) so that is one person. If I can get a few more I'll post the first installment January 1st. It is actually a little more complicated then it may look at first. Color placement is everything in this quilt! You won't need much fabric and the finished doll quilt would be 24" square. I was thinking of posting it in 4 parts, 1 part a week. I'm a slow quilter and only am working on part 2. Any takers?
Here is another project I've been working on for a quilt shop sample. It is called Mockingbirds by Lynda. I have the borders ready to machine applique. I would rate this pattern HARD and I feel like I'm an experienced piecer!!
I think it's a wonderful idea and will look forward to see who all participates and their finishes!

ReplyDeleteSign me up! I usually make a doll quilt to start off the new year. I remember hearing that how you start off the year is how you'll end the year. One of my aunts always made a pillow on New Year's Day. Maybe she shared that saying with me.
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited to make this!
I'd be interested to making the doll quilt with you. I've made two 'This n That' patterns as doll quilts and loved making them. this sounds like fun.

ReplyDeleteCount me in...just might be the thing I need to get my quilting mojo back in swing (of course that might be the New Year's eve Rum and coke talking) but just the same it looks like fun!
