Here are my two blocks from quilt class. The bird house on the right was applique practice. She gave us tips and tricks, some I've heard and use, some I've heard and forgot!! I even learned some great new-to-me tricks!I had a wonderful two day class and learned that I need to do that more often!!
To refresh your memory this was the quilt I saw and loved at the Outdoor Quilt Show last summer. When I saw that she was giving a class I jumped at the chance. Tonye was a wonderful teacher. She was very encouraging, laid back, funny and generous. Here's a few more close ups of the houses.
She called this bottom one double martini because the "flowers" reminded of her of olives!! Isn't that adorable?
Before our "art" lesson I asked her if she had a double martini hidden anywhere!! The answer was a resounding no:)
Oh my gosh how completely sweet and cute! I am in love with your houses. Especially the one on the left. I love orange. Dig the orange windows and you picked the best fabric for the siding then oh... the too cute roof. I love it. And how the "flower" tilts towards the house. The house on the right with the pink is so fun and I completely dig how you blended the use of that Jo fabric with the rest of them to make a fun house. I love the pink chimney. I always wanted a pink chimney here in Florida. okay that's not totally true... hee!

Oh fun! I loved that quilt at Sisters too. I had Tonye there last summer for beginning applique and it was so fun. Everything you said about her is so exactly right...she is the real deal! We are having her come to Chico as a guest speaker next fall...I cannot wait for the rest of our guild to see her talents. I need to make one of those houses! Yours look just great! xo Pam in Chico
