This is a quilt I started as a leader/ender and ended up being the main project. I finished the top last July, had it quilted this January, finally got the binding on and sewn a few days ago!! Woo-hoo! I'm calling it Leftovers because it pretty much has all kinds of scraps in it, thrown together, and looks fantastic, imho.
Measure twice, cut once........will someone remind me of this please??!
I'll remind you if you remind me!! Deal?!
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt. I will remind you if you remind me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous scrappy quilt! I love it! Yes, I make that mistake all too often myself! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe ultimate scrappy quilt -- and it's totally wonderful! I really like it. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful scrap quilt. So many fun fabrics. Is it your original pattern?
ReplyDeleteI love it - it's hard to top a 4 patch!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful scrap quilt.

ReplyDeleteWow, what a wonderful use of scraps! Hmm, and its always when your short of fabric that you cut one piece short! Happy quilting Sue SA.
ReplyDeleteTriple four patch is such a great quilt block. I bet you have just inspired a lot of quilters to start digging thru their scraps. What size is your smallest four patch in this quilt?
ReplyDeleteHappy Stitching,
Cheri
Oh sure I'll be happy to remind you - when I remember. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove it, Lori.

What beautiful colours - a great leaders/enders quilt. I think I like scrap quilts the best!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt! I really like this color combo! Starting as leader-ender and ending up as main quilt, that happens to me too!
ReplyDeleteGreat work Lori on Leftovers! Really the fact that simple blocks come together to make a gorgeous quilt still fascinates me.
ReplyDeleteLove the new header and your 'scrappy' quilt. Both are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI need a sign that says " Don't talk now - I'm cutting out"
Hi Lori, Your quilt looks fantastic!
ReplyDeletelove your leftovers! I think this is one for my inspiration notebook. As for the binding..been there, done that!
ReplyDeleteI've always loved this pattern and yours looks great! Yeah, I have trouble remembering that one, too! lol
ReplyDeleteLori, this reminds me of my trail mix I'm working on!! Love it. These bonus quilts are the best. Adn love your new header!
ReplyDeleteI will remind you if you remind me to check twice what side of the quilt row I am sewing to the next. Had to rip out a whole row yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI am always attracted to quilts like your new finish. I like those rows of light forming a pattern throughout the quilt. A very nice finish.
I love it. Great way to use up those scraps.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, measure twice, cut once. I can't tell you how many times I've done something like that!!
Lori your quilt is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour Leftovers is scrumptious! Scrap quilts rule!
ReplyDeleteWe can all remind each other to measure twice and cut once...problem is with me - I have even measured 3-4 times and still cut wrong...the eyes are definitely growing older.
Have a good weekend.
Your quilt is beautiful! Somewhere, hidden in a drawer, I have pieces cut for a quilt I'd forgotten about until I saw your post. So one of my projects today is to find it and start using it for leaders and enders (thread bears to me) and maybe, just maybe, I'll get it sewn. You did a great job!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this quilt and the scrappy colors!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for your oopsy!!
Your leftovers are marvelous all sewed together into that top! What a great leader/ender project. Oh yeah, measuring...it happens to all of us I think :0)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the colors.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the binding 'trick'! 8-( Been there done that. Maybe we could come up with some snazzy variation to the binding mishap to make it look "on purpose" .. a frog, or clever button, or ??? LOL Hope you have a bit of binding fabric leftover.
ReplyDeleteMe gustan mucho tus trabajos. Te felicito.

Leftovers is just wonderful! You did a great job of placing those scrap pieces to make a beautiful whole. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteI really wantto make one of those....someday.
Love the quilt in your new header.
My FAVORITE kind of quilt!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the too short binding - I hate it when that happens!
I love scrappy quilts, and yours is so beautiful. I especially like the diagonal lines created by the 4-patch blocks. I noticed it also looks very nice next to your header.
ReplyDeleteoh the quilt is beautiful...one that has been on my list to make, scrap quilts are just the best!
ReplyDeletecan I see a picture of the whole quilt want to see all those fabrics :)
