Block 16 grapes finally finished. This is going to be my center block.
Block 21. After seeing Wendy's block yesterday I realized I forgot to applique the ribbon/handle/decoration on the urn. The original color was dark green but I don't think I would have been able to see it so I opted for purple. I'm not thrilled with it, but OK with it. Before appliqueing that on, I could see a frowning face, now I see a frowning face with glasses!! LOL
Block 22- whew! An easy one!!
Now that I'm caught up on those I am ready to start making the flying geese for the Blind Man's Fancy border. Jo Morton let me know that the dye lot is fine, it was printed in two different colors!! I tell ya' they look the same online.
Look at all those itty bitty grapes! You did a wonderful job on them. Your blocks are beautiful. :)
ReplyDeleteoh every time I see these blocks I want to start this quilt
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself finish one of the applique quilts you started already not sure I can really wait any longer!
beautiful center block....

Love these blocks! I really need to find time to work on my applique skills (or...the lack of!).
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice.........and pretty, too. Looking forward to seeing all the blocks together.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look so good - those grapes look so small. I didn't notice the funny face until you pointed it out - very funny!
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks. I really love all those little grapes. Reminds me that I have some applique blocks that I need to dig out.
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine appliquing all those little grapes, Perfect!
ReplyDeleteThese blocks are beautiful. Look forward to seeing the quilt together.
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy Lori - I now see your frowning face with glasses on whereas before I was looking at the urn and fruit! You are really making great progress!
ReplyDeleteI have a lot more to go! Yours look great, the center block will be perfect!
ReplyDeleteNow I see the frowny face with glasses. But the blocks are beautiful--what a lovely quilt this will be!
ReplyDeleteNice blocks, I can't imagine how long it took to make all those grapes. I saw the face with glasses too, that's funny. Beautiful work. Carline
ReplyDeleteI love these blocks! This quilt is going to be stunning!
ReplyDeleteWhat great blocks. All that works speaks wonders to me as does the FANTASTIC array of greens. Wonders of what is in that stash. :> Your grapes are really amazing. So pretty. I love all of them. More and more and more. hee! …and I didn't catch the whole face with the glasses thing at first but then when I did I got a creative giggle out of it. Applique is so neat the way things just magically can come to be.
ReplyDeleteI love your blocks - all those grapes!! I didn't see the frowning face until you mentioned it. Perhaps she's frowning because she can't find her glasses :0) Pretty cool to hear from Jo Morton. I've had a surprise or two from ordering online too :0)
ReplyDeleteWow, good for you! I worked on mine this weekend too, I'm doing block 11 right now, it's pretty fast now that I've done the reverse applique on the vase.
ReplyDeleteI NEVER get tired of these blocks...magnificent!! This is going to be an heirloom quilt for sure!!
ReplyDeleteTake care!

Such charming blocks! Now that you mention it, I do see the frowning face. Oh my, there are a lot of little grapes...good job!
ReplyDeleteLove your blocks. Now that I'm home I'm going to get sewing again. Thanks for your inspiration. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blocks!
ReplyDeleteI love applique! Your blocks look great. I agree with you - they do look like glasses, but it can be a conversation piece. Cute! Don't change a thing.
ReplyDeleteOMG all those round grapes! That is going to be one nice quilt.
ReplyDeleteMore great blocks! Those little grapes would probably scare me off! The "glasses" kind of look like a bikini top, too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful blocks! You must have the patience of a saint to do all that beautiful applique! Kudos to you and anyone else making them. :D
ReplyDeleteFrowning face with glasses...ROTFLOL!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks!!!
Wow, beautiful blocks, can't wait to see the whole quilt. I like that frowning face :)
ReplyDeleteWow! You are doing so good with those Cherry Tree blocks. I admire that you have stuck with it.
ReplyDeleteMy husband mailed your package today. Just give away or toss out what you don't want to use.
I think I would make that my center block as well. The grapes are fantastic.
ReplyDeleteWoo-hoo! Good for you! Blocks are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLovely progress on the blocks. All those little circles make my hands ache, thinking about the work and precision involved. It's enjoyable watching the parts being finished.
ReplyDeleteLooking good! Glad you appliqued the little grapes and not me.

Ha-ha! I saw the frownie face, too; it fits with the whimsical nature of that quilt. Your blocks are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing your Blind Man's Fancy completed. May those flying geese fly swiftly!
Your grapes look awesome. Looks too hard for me. I LOL over the frowny face with glasses. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteYou are always getting so much done. All good stuff!
Congrats on being caught up - I left the bits off my basket. Feels great having those grapes done - yes?
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job.
I love both your blocks but now that's all I'm going to see, too. And not just any glasses but pointy-ended glasses from the '50's that were up on top of a head but now are sliding half way down a forehead!
ReplyDeleteI saw the face before I read your comment but I didn't see the frown. I thought her mouth was the circle and your "frown" was a tie. Your blocks are great.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful. Congratulations. I still wish I had the first 11 blocks for this quilt.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks are fabulous Lori and I love the "glasses" I'm way behind but I do it the slow way.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like your favorites are applique quilts. They are my favorite too.
ReplyDeleteWooHoo!!!
