Isn't this quilt gorgeous?! It was one of the more fancy quilts at the antique quilts booth at Sisters. I'd love to own it but it was a little out of my budget.


I love the unusual baskets and the super size blocks!!

This was on a different quilt. I thought the applique block on this one was very charming!!

  3. Lori, thanks for sharing this beauty. I makes me imagine how it came to be designed, what was the quiltmaker like and gosh, what kind of person could make such a beautiful quilt then finish it with cross-hatching. Amazing! I'd want to go back in time and know this person for sure.

  6. It is truly a beauty. I love its crinkly condition. That adds so much to its character. I'm curious what sort of price tag is attached to such a quality quilt at an audience-packed show like Sisters.

  10. Precious quilt! Can you just picture some sweet lady piecing and quilting such a treasure? I think it would be an easy project to make your own pattern. You already have such good pictures - if you need help, I would be happy to lend a hand......

  18. This was my first visit to Sisters. I did not even know I would see any antique quilts. When I saw all the quilts at Ann's booth, I went a little crazy. This quilt went home with me to Arizona. You are welcome to come visit it anytime.

  29. Red and green applique quilts always grab my attention. The 4 block is gorgeous! A good candidate for a remake?
    The design of the second quilt is so whimsical..did you get a pic of the whole quilt?

    I think it's the "pride of Iowa" or a variation of it. I always wanted to done of those with super big sized blocks - what a stunner!
