Thanksgiving Project

Last year I had a big group at the house and we all made a fun Christmas banner. I enjoyed that so much I thought I'd spend Thanksgiving weekend making another holiday project.

This little table topper designed by Cheri was in the latest issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects.
The half pennies at the ends and the twigs and pennies on the sides are wool; the rest is cotton. It was a fun project.

Someone had asked me recently in an email if I was going to do another doll quilt quilt-a-long. I lost that email- I'm so sorry.
It seems there is always so much going on in blogland that I hadn't really given it much thought.  I'd love to do it so let me know if you are interested  and we'll start after the new year.

    That is a beautiful table topper, Lori.
    I haven't been in blogland long enough to know about your doll quilt QALs, but doll quilt size and starting after the holidays are a combination I could probably even do!

    I am working steadily on hand-quilting my Midnight Stars - should be finished by the end of the year. Another doll quilt project would be a fun and satisfying challenge!

    Love it! The striped background adds a lot to the design. Glad you played with fabric in such a fun way :)

    I still have to hand quilt the STrawberry Fields QAL but enjoyed it bunches!

    Your topper is perfect!! I've never done a QAL as I still work full time and can't seem to finish what I have. But the doll quilts are so charming, I'll be watching...

    Cute little holiday project!

    I would enjoy doing another of your QALs after the holidays though I have yet to quilt even one of your previous QALs (but two are layered and basted!). You do a good job on putting a QAL together, with wonderful inspiration pieces.

    You know I like the Cheri quilt patterns. I know you enjoyed making it. With my company, I did not have a chance to work on a fun project like this.
    I think you would have plenty of people interested in another small quilt along like you have done in the past. It is not a big committment of time to make one.

    Very nice table topper! Cheri does primitive so well! :)

    I've made all your QALs, I've just not quilted and bound them is all! LOL!!

    You know I'm a sucker for your QALs so definitely count me in but please take your time, the last thing you need is to stress about it.

    I have completed both Midnight Stars and Strawberry Fields so I'm definitely up for a third QAL! January is the perfect month to do it.

    Hi Lori, me again. I suggested you do a QAL on a quilt you featured in your post of October 18 from the Aurora Colony Quilt Show. It's the blue, gold, yellow and black one at the end. I also like the quilt in your current blog header.

    If you do start another quilt along.....it might force me to finish the two I have started. Cheddar Cheese and Crackers just needs the binding put on and I have some piecing left on the second one. But, I love them and would jump into a third if you decide to start one.

    Well isn't this a cute, happy project. I dig that. I really dig how you can express your quilting joy in so many different ways. That's what I really Dig! (did Porter have a good Thanksgiving?)

    Count me in! I've been thinking about a doll quilt wall since that CL article about 25 years ago. I finally got started on it this week with my first small top but I think working on one in a group would be fun.
