I got the red and white blocks from Just Takes 2 completed on New years Day.
I got a few more bow ties added to the pile the week before Christmas. Can you tell I was working with my green scraps? But now I need an INTERMISSION......
To get the binding on my Jane Stickle quilt!! I unfolded the edges, ironed it down, then basted near my pencil marks. I wasn't sure how to handle to corners as I did have it kind of looped out somewhat like the original. It really wasn't working for me and I'm happy and not as stressed now that I rounded them off. It looks good to me!!
My bias binding is going on OK. I am pivoting in the valleys. I will need to figure out how to sew them down on the other side. One step at a time. I'm going slowly as Dorothy recommended (I have no reason to doubt her common sense approach as I feel she is an absolute expert) and have about 1/2 of it sewn on. Hubby will have to understand if dinner is late getting on the table tonight!! LOL
I am so excited that many are joining in on the quiltalong!! I'll post the block directions Thursday morning. I love Pink Lemonade for the name. Thanks Lucy for thinking of Lemonade and Annie O for Pink Lemonade!!
Okay, so when I see my quilts I crave, straberries, crackers and cheese and lemonade. We need some chocolate next! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLucy~
Wow, you sure did a lot this month, I am still just thinking, lol. Beautiful blocks, love the red and white.

ReplyDeleteI love the different reds, love the bowties - you have been productive.
ReplyDeleteSewing binding on is such a wonderful way to finish a quilt, isn't it. It seems so easy after all that work and decision making - although this looks like a bit of a challenge. You're nearly there!
wow! you are fast to get your "takes 2" blocks done. I just printed mine off the other day. Not sure if I will do it or not but I am collecting just in case.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Pink lemonade is perfect! Hope I can find time to make this one. I will have to hunt for fabrics to use.
ReplyDeleteVery exciting that your Jane quilt is getting it's binding! The last stitch must be a "photo finish"!
ReplyDeleteYou are truly a whirl-wind! Doesn't it feel good to make that kind of progress??? Good start on the new year.
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly been busy spending time on stitching in the New Year! Love the red and white, and cheddar blocks. Excellent progress on your DJ, how exciting to be getting so close to the finish line at last. Glad you liked my name suggestion--can't wait to get started on Pink Lemonade!
ReplyDeleteYou really have been busy. Congratulations on almost finishing your Jane quilt! That's a real accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteDid you know there's a book called Pink Lemonade? It's a cute book I found years ago with a pink and yellow quilt on the cover. That's the first place I saw the color combination and I still like it.
the binding is going to be great!....Sewing it down on the back is not hard with the bias binding....I just do a lot of pinning to keep from getting puckers. I love the quilt
