My Own Infinite Variety

One year ago this month I made my first trip to New York City with my daughter to see the Infinite Variety quilt exhibit. I was thinking about that a lot today while getting caught up on my blocks.
It was an amazing trip from start to finish.

    Your blocks look wonderful together. It will be interesting to see the suggested layout in the next instalment. I see you decided to switch out the compass block.. it looked very complicated

    WOW!! Have we made that many blocks? Mine are in a bag and haven't laid them all out to admire my work. Is the feathered star in that collection? VBG. Yours look great! Wish I could've been there last year, too!

    I think you said you were disappointed in instructions for these blocks, but they sure are beautiful! This quilt will be a reminder of a special time.

    I have finally succumbed to temptation and downloaded all the Just Takes 2 blocks published this far. The red & white is so appealing and your blocks look great. Love that you have used different small scale red prints!

    Lori- these look fabulous!!! I haven't fallen prey to the red and white movement, maybe it was a good thing I didn't see the exhibit in person. I have enough things in the que for me. Great job!

    These blocks are awesome, Lori! And I've been thinking about that R@W show a lot lately.....it's still amazing to me what we saw! It was incredible......a once in a lifetime experience!

    I just wish I had met you before that, so we could have hung out! In NYC! Holy cow! Woohoo! lol

    Beautiful blocks Lori, they look great all laid out. Your feathered star is gorgeous and I like what you did for the Mariner's Compass. I was thinking of replacing it with a Dresden plate. GMTA Congrats on keeping up!

    I know you have been frustrated with the instructions, but I think these look really good, whatever mental anguish you have suffered to bring them about. : )

    Love it, I see your own choices on some blocks, the "wagon wheel" looking one is a great addition, there was a few quilts with that block in them. Can you believe it's been a year???

    You'd chosen a lovely way to commemorate your trip to the Infinite Variety show. Your blocks look like they've been great fun to make. Same colors, but look at the variety! I'm sure you've been tackling them with gusto (ooh -- maybe that's the wrong word. Did you attack them with gusto?)
    I'm saving the patterns but no chance to start my own yet. Maybe later.

    Your Infinite Variety is coming along really well.

    I see you've changed up the feather star and compass block. I am curious how the layout will be. I may just piece those blocks that Ive made and see if I can make a table topper instead!

    I just finished a feather star block too but in blue and white instead.

    i needed more nackground and fell behind ... and picked up a bunch at the Dallas Quilt show and will be playing catch up, too. Your blocks look great.

    I think anyone who sa the infinite variety show will always remember it ... I know I will.
