Drunkards Path and Cowboy Fabric needed

Here's my little finished drunkards path quilt.  Each block finishes at 2" and the overall quilt size is about 18x17. Thank you Martha! I love it and learned so much doing this.

I am not looking for these ones specifically!
I have had a request to make a cowboy quilt for my nephew's adorable son who is now in a big boy bed. How can I refuse?! My problem? These two little pieces of fabric are the only cowboy fabric I have in my stash.
Does anybody have some cowboy scraps  they would like to swap? I certainly won't be able to make a whole quilt with my two pieces.  Shoot me off an email if you may be able to help me out. Let me know what you might want to fill in your stash and I'll let you know if I have it.
Thanks so much!!

  1. Lori,
The drunkard path is amazing! I can't even wrap my head around the fact how tiny those blocks are!

  2. I have made a cowboy themed quilt for my grandson. I used tans, blues and reds and a vintage cowboy print. Bandana fabric in blue and red work really well to fill in and add color and is found at your friendly neighborhood Wal-mart store!

I have a couple of leftover cowboy scraps from one that I did. Any certain size? Give me your address and I will get them out in the mail to you.

  7. Your drunkards path is amazing, Lori! What an achievement that is--and it is perfect timing. I love 30s fabric in the Spring.
I have no cowboy scraps that I can think of--I'll check. It sounds like you may get what you need from Julie and Kristie, but if not, I know my LQS had a line of it in I happened to notice the other day and I would be happy to have an excuse to go in again--they love to see me coming!! : )

  33. Wow,the drunkards path quilt is quite a lot of work for it's size but ornate and beautiful and it shows you have a lot of patience.
I'm still a novice so I'm sticking to simple little cell phone and nook covers. I made my girls little penguin covers for the Tracfone LG800G phones to hang around their necks and to protect the touch screens. (I'm paying $5.99/40 min/a month for cell phone time on the Tracfone family value plan, which you won't be able to beat)
I've noticed that when I'm sporting an animal motive on my quilted bags I'm always getting a response from a stranger in the shops or bus, I guess it's because people love cute animals.

  44. Sorry no cowboys!

Lovely little quilt - I am waiting for one of Martha's kits to arrive for me! Love the idea of using actual vintage fabric..

  45. Your Drunkards Path quilt turned out beautifully, I love small bocks!!! Sorry I can't help with cowboy fabric, I have never seen any anywhere locally!

  46. This is such a great idea to ask your fellow quilters to swap. The price of fabric is getting so crazy swapping seems very logical. Thank you for posting this

  47. If you still need some let me know
    . I have a Bunch!

  48. I too love the little drunkard path quilt. Can't wait to see it quilted. I too have some cowboy fabric. It's on a cream background and has little cowboys and horses. There are probably at least 3/4 yd uncut. Email, if you'd like it!

  49. Catching up on blog reading. Do you have enough cowboy/horse fabric headed your way? If not, I have quite a few I could drop into a packet and send your way. I've made multiple cowboy boot quilts in the past, and I accumulated those fabrics for a year. Just give me the word.

  50. I haven't been blog visiting in the longest time, and while I was gone . . . you finished the little top!! It looks fabulous, and you did such a nice job on the stitching. It really makes me happy to be able to see the result of our combined efforts. Okay, I know -- your part was harder :)

I wish I had some cowboy fabric to send, but it sounds like you actually might have enough already.
