Mary Pomponio, publicity manager at Plume books contacted me recently about reviewing "The Giving Quilt". Many of you may have already read this, but on April 1st you can get it in paperback! She also mailed along several lovely quilt pins.
I have 3 paperbacks and will pass mine along when I am finished reading it. I'm about 1/2 way through. I think I have only read one other Elm Creek Novel and I really liked it. This is an easy, fun read that any quilter would enjoy.
"At Elm Creek Manor, the circle of quilters is hard at work preparing
for “Quiltsgiving.” Held annually the week after Thanksgiving, expert and
novice quilters from near and far gather for a special winter session of quilt
camp to make pieces for Project Linus. As the week unfolds, the quilters
respond to the question, “Why do you give?” in ways as varied as the life
experiences that drew them to Elm Creek Manor. Each of the quilters, including
a librarian, a teacher, a college student, and a quilt shop clerk, uses her
unique talents to teach, inspire, and give back to her fellow campers."
Leave a comment to be entered to win a book or a pin...or both! I'll draw on April 5.
This Giveaway is now closed. Thank you for entering!!

Can't resist this one! I hadn't seen this book in the series before so excited about this. I got the "Wedding Quilt" from my cousin for Xmas (actually, she had bought me "The Union Quilters" but I'd already read that so I exchanged it).
ReplyDeleteWould also love to win a pin. I have a small collection of them but don't get too many opportunities to add to it. Thanks for offering such a great giveaway!
I have read most of the Elm Creek series. Especially enjoyed the ones about the civil war. I have not read this latest one yet and would love to be entered in your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
judy@atticraggedys.com

ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the Elm Creek books, I've read everyone except this one. Jennifer's books have a great subject (of course), beautiful settings and such interesting stories. Please add me to the long list of quilters who would love to be a "Giving Quilt" book or pin winner. Thanks! ;-> Toni Anne
ReplyDeleteAs a quilter and book lover the Elm Creek books fill both of these requirements. I would love to win the book as I do not have it. But then I would not turn down a pin either.. LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance.
I love the Elm Creek books and would love a chance in the Giveway. In fact, I'm working on Sylvia's Bridal quilt right now. And I'm going to look up your books the next time I'm at the bookstore. They both look like they'd be really good.
ReplyDeletei love her books!! when my neck shoulders and back need a break from quilting, reading is what i do. and who doesn't like to win!!
ReplyDeleteI have read some of the ElmCreek books and they were all really good. I even shared one with our book club and they still talk about it. Thanks for the heads up on the others. I am going to go check them out. I love agood book!

ReplyDeleteThe book giveaway caught my eye! She's a favorite author of mine. I also love the quilt shown at the top of your blog! Is a pattern available?
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, I made my own templates for the quilt in the header and basically just used strips of various scrap fabrics.
DeleteDoes that make sense?
I picked up the book at a used book store, but haven't read it. No need to enter me there.
ReplyDeleteI do like to collect pins, so wouldn't mind being in the running for one of those.

ReplyDeleteHaven't read any of the Elm Creek series yet, but would love a chance to win one. I'm about halfway through "The Life Boat" and am loving it. Hoping to pick up "The Language of Flowers" this weekend. Sometimes reading a good book is almost as good as making a quilt. Love the little quilt pins, so sweet.
ReplyDeleteYour "slow sewing" still gets lots done!!! I KNOW that!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Jennifer's books and have not read this one--thanks for the chance to win.....
ReplyDeleteI have not had a chance to read any of the Elm Creek books yet, but they are on my (very long) list of to-reads. I'd love the opportunity to start with this book! And who can resist a quilty pin??
ReplyDeleteWe all have slow times and some times it's necessary to take a break just to get the mojo back to full force. Enjoy it!
Oh! I would love to win that book, our library is a bit slow and hasn't had the book to check out. I will bet your slow sewing is at least getting things done. We are in mid remodel and our entire house seems to be upset, although only one bathroom is actually involved. I would love to escape to a good book. Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway! Love the Elm Creek books. I haven't read the last couple of new ones. And the pins? Who wouldn't want one of those!!!!

ReplyDeleteI really like the Elm Creek Quilters series and have read all the books. I just finished reading Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker by Jennifer Chiaverini and it was a good read too although quite different from the Elm Creek series. I highly recommend these books.
ReplyDeleteI have never read one of these books. Would enjoy a nice book to read.
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish to win this book!!! I have turned in circle in libraries, trying to remember the author's name with no success, and when the lady asked May I help you? and I would say no, too ashamed to admit I had no idea what the name of the book was! I couldn't remember the name of the Creek either and didn't want to say "you know the story about the quilt?" like there is gazillion of them out there! And everytime someone would mention the book was always when I had no pen or paper to write it down. But I so would like to read this book. Oh please Lori, pick me. Have a great Easter!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win the book. I'd be happy with the one you are reading now. I have read most of her other books and really enjoy them.
