Hair Duty is up for sale! This will be my last quilt for AAQI as they will be done the end of this year. This quilt will also let me reach my $1000 goal. Thank you all for your purchases and your encouragement.
Artist Statement: We make sure my mom gets to the hairdresser
every Friday to get her hair set. It makes her feel special and the
ladies at the salon are so sweet to her.
Whoever takes her that week is on "hair duty.”
I tried, Lori, but it was already gone! You have done a great thing, meeting the $1,000 pledge. Wish I had got in on it soon enough. I may do another, if I can pull it together before the deadline. Thanks for the inspiration, and the quilts of yours I have been able to purchase. : )
ReplyDeleteCongrats on reaching your goal. You have made some beautiful quilts. I love this scrappy one, especially the name. The name brought back memories for me. I too did hair duty with my Mom. She started having her hair done every week when she went back to work in the 70's. When she stopped driving we took her every Friday to get 'beautiful'.
ReplyDeleteLove this little quilt and what it stands for! You are an inspiration to many and I know everyone who is around you feels blessed!
ReplyDeleteBlessings sweet lady!
Good design title. Looks like hair rollers! Congratulations on reaching such a great goal.
ReplyDeleteWell done! You should be really proud of yourself!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Lori! Congratulations on raising $1000 for Alzheimer's research. I just love this quilt and the story behind it. Proud to have it in my collection- it arrived yesterday.
