Here is one of many quilts we hung today..
Doesn't this look great hanging in the Alpaca by Design store? The owners were thrilled and most were looking forward to the excitement and energy of quilt show week.
Trying to find the perfect place for a quilt.
Three Sisters.
Alpaca farm I pass on my way to Sisters.
One week from today I'll have my car packed and loaded and will head to Sunriver where we will have a fantastic sewing retreat prior to the quilt show. It can't get here fast enough!!
Wish I was coming down this year. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have a quilt show. In Greece people just start quilting, so not really any shows yet.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt! I hope it won't be real hot that day.
ReplyDeleteOh the excitement builds!! :-)
ReplyDeleteHow fun to be able to help out and see the quilts that are in the show.
ReplyDeleteI hope you take lots of photos, love seeing what others make.
Debbie

I cannot imagine an outdoor quilt show. The weather in England is so damp and unreliable, we wouldnt dare :-D
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing the 3 sisters, I have 3 sisters living opposite me, they'd love their namesake I'm sure.
What a pretty quilt; the birds are a sweet added touch. Haven't been to the Sister's show, but it always looks enticing.
ReplyDeleteYou have an exciting time ahead of you, enjoy Sisters. Hubby and I were there in 2000, so many beautiful quilts to see. The Sisters mountains are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLove the leaves in that quilt! I haven't been to that quilt show in years. You are so lucky to live close.:)
ReplyDeleteEYE CANDY! Looking forward to more posts on the retreat and show.
ReplyDeleteI am curious as to how long it takes you to get from home to Sisters.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great opportunity to volunteer.
ReplyDeleteI love reading of the "antics" of you and your fellow retreaters. (Was antics the right word to use there?)
Look forward to seeing the Sisters Show through your eyes. I am determined to get there someday!!
Oh thanks... Antics???!!
DeleteWhat fun! Hanging quilts for Sisters. I know you all love that retreat week before the show. Can't wait to see what you all get up to and the quilts.
ReplyDeleteI hope your leg is better.
Oh what fun! Was hoping to go this year for the first time but it's not meant to be. Quilting buddies here in Chico go and have met you. Pam B and Dorrie. Have FUN with all the festivities!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of 3 Sisters. Have a great time there, we are enjoying the heat here....
ReplyDeleteAwesome pics, Lori! And that 4-block quilt is gorgeous! Enjoy the retreat! Can't wait to hear all about it! :o)
ReplyDeleteThere can't be a better way to spend the next couple of weeks... a retreat, and then surrounded by beautiful quilts AND beautiful scenery! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful plan for the beginning of the second half of this year! Can't wait to see pics of all you accomplish during your retreat, and of course, pics from the Sisters show. I've always wanted to attend this show, but still haven't made it, so living vicariously through you! :) Safe travels!
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I have been lucky enough to go to Sisters twice before (last time in 2001), so hoping to get there next year. The quilt displays are always wonderful, and so well done. Hope it isn't too hot this year!
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous...have a great time!
ReplyDeleteLori, I love the preview of the quilts! It's just a tease before we are finally starting our retreat time!! Can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteLucky you--the retreat and then the show. Attending the Sisters show is on my list of things to do, but not this year. Maybe next. I'm sure the preparation goes quickly with enthusiastic workers like you, Lori. Have a great retreat.
ReplyDeleteOooo - you will be having an exciting time really soon! That red and green applique quilt is so beautiful! Have fun and I hope the weather is great for the show!
ReplyDeleteIn stitches,
Teresa :o)
So excited for you. was at guild tonight and some of them were getting so excited about their road trip to the Sisters area. They have a place for a week and will be sewing, sewing and having fun!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky for you to be hanging quilts at Sisters. I've been there once, a few years ago. It's awesome. Loved every minute of it. And the fact that they put up and take down all those gorgeous quilts in one day is spectacular. Have fun fondling those quilts. And also enjoy the retreat.
ReplyDeleteWe did that exact thing one year - rented a house at Sun River from Monday until Sunday. Unfortunately the person who arranged the rental forgot to ask about air conditioning. And there wasn't any. And every day that week was 103 degrees or hotter. The plan had been to sew all week. We couldn't. By midmorning the house was unbearable and a hot iron just made it worse. The only way we slept - upstairs of course! - was by putting damp washcloths on our necks, and that helped only a little. We ended up driving to Sisters every day. It was a miserable week! I hope your place has air conditioning.
ReplyDeleteI went last year and took my Sister! It was great until the rain came...Have a great time even without Bonnie. I'm skipping it this year, too many fun things I've already got on my schedule, DARN!
