We got to sleep in our bed last night. Some friends and I designed this great sampler. I love putting a "new" quilt on the bed. The pattern was in McCalls magazine special America issue several years ago. I'm slowly getting the room back together.
Several of you asked about the quilt on the wall. The eagles pattern is by Jan Patek and I designed the rest based on antique quilts.
Here's a great idea for storing and displaying lots of larger quilts.
This is the extent of my sewing. I was asked to repair a skydiving suit. I only sewed the leg closed 4 times! lol
Next to clear out is the guest room and my sewing room. New carpet will be lovely, but emptying it out will not be!
The closets are jammed full.
The rest of the room is still a wreck! I hope you are all enjoying summer! Check out Get to Goal to see what else I've been up to.
I love the rack with the dowels holding lots of quilts. Is that custom made or is it repurposed?
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to get a different quilt on the bed. It's like seeing an old friend. Remember Rembrandt didnt paint garage doors so don't get to involved with stitching jumpsuits. Next you might be fixing parachutes!
ReplyDeleteseriously. you think that is bad. I'm not ever going to show you my closet or my sewing room, period. because if mine were half as neat I'd be in my glory.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is exquisite. I especially love the pink and red with a bit of green applique block! Just lovely.
LOL! Mostly it is just full of stuff, which I know as far as quilters I don't have much.
DeleteSuch a lovely quilt on your bed. Wow! I love the block with the big red and pink flowers. It looks so yummy! I don't recall seeing this one on your blog before. You should introduce us to it better with more pictures before you put it away, ok? Please? Would love to see more of it. And I love the idea to put the quilts on a rack. I need to find myself one of those racks. Thanks for sharing. Oh yeah, great job on the room; it looks great too. Only two more to go! ;)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see so many of your wonderful quilts in one post! Emptying closets isn't any fun but maybe you will discover/rediscover some treasures buried at the back :0)
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see quilts on a bed and displayed on the walls! Makes me drool.:) I doubt I will ever quilt wanting to make just one more quilt.:) Good luck emptying out your room for the carpet. I'm sure it will be totally worth it in the end.
ReplyDeleteThe bedroom looks beautiful. That quilt rack is a great way to store and show off quilts at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI know the cleaning out and moving is not fun, but new carpet will be worth it. And it is a chance to declutter and organize. ;)
Love the wall quilt rack! Still working on the move into my little sewing room, just added a new sewing table this week. It is fun to rediscover projects and fabric and patterns and books and... ;0)
ReplyDeleteThe quilt added to your bed is gorgeous, it fits perfect! New carpet is always nice and well worth it. You will love it when it's all done!

ReplyDeletei'm currently dreaming of new carpeting myself although i have to say that seeing your post and realizing all of the work it will be to get it in has made me realize that i can happily wait just a bit longer . . .
i really like the quilt rack that you have on your wall. i've wanted wonderful husband to make something similar for my house for several years but so far have not seen that happen. someday maybe.

ReplyDeleteP.S. Your should see my quilting space (not!) LOL
