I had a little down time after the race to prop up a knee with ice and grab a little hand work I brought along to Portland with me. I'm not sure if this is block B but it is the one I grabbed and finished. Wool applique on brushed homespun cotton, whip stitched with cotton thread.
If you want to read more about my run check out my other blog. Thank you all for the lovely comments!! I couldn't be more thrilled!!
A Marathon AND some quilty stuff.....you are my hero! : ) Congratulations and two jobs well done.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a successful race Lori! Ice on your knee... for some of us a bathtub of iced water would have been in order!!!

You sure are multi-talented...a runner and a quilter. Too cool!
ReplyDeleteREALLY??!! finding time to stitch after a marathon, with a knee injury.. how funny!! there's just no stopping you LOL!! oh and btw your block looks lovely :))) cheers... Marian x
ReplyDeleteGreat block. Did you use cotton embroidery floss, or just matching regular thread?
ReplyDeleteI would have needed more than ice and a little down time after the marathon! Such an accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Lori! The race and the appliqué.
ReplyDeleteNow that's a dedicated quilter......one who runs 26 miles but needs to take a few stitches in a block when she sits down to rest. Always have some sewing in your pocket, no matter what else you're doing. I love it!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh Lori you are too much! after running a marathon you sit and stitch! love it - congrats again on the race.
