My favorite part? Hearing the greeting with a Southern drawl. It just sounds so sincere and sweet.
We all found a few bits and pieces. Bonnie's friend from Buck Mountain, Mona, fit right in this week and it has been a pleasure to get to know her!
I love this photo, but look behind them! This store is ginormous!
We went to a few antique malls and this green block stole the show for the most HUMBLE! I love it!
Bonnie brings me to Charlotte today where I will do handwork in the hotel and catch a morning flight. This has been a memorable week and a wonderful way to start 2015!
Love to you all.
This is a new to me shop and am adding to my travel bucket list. The green humble block--yikes!
ReplyDeleteYou have a good day, and I am so glad for your fun week!!
ReplyDeleteIt has been fun to watch the 3 Blogs during this fun Girls Retreat at Quiltvilla. Thanks for sharing. Love the "Humble Block" that was in the time of Cereal box templates and scissors. Just using it up!
ReplyDeleteI used to love to go to Mary Jo's when I lived in South Carolina. So much to pick from. The local quilt shop where I lived did not stock much of my style. I could always find fabrics at Mary Jo's. Though it does not carry Moda and some of the other quilting brands, still plenty to select from.
ReplyDeleteThe "humble" block is very interesting with the haphazard placement of the stripe.
Well, I dream about the same BIG shop in France...but.......:(((
ReplyDeleteYou are so pretty 4 ladies !!! Lovely photo !
Have a great weekend !
Xoxo
So nice to get together with friends and do some quilting and shopping and quilting and eating and quilting and walking and quilting and talking. Sounds like a happy time for all. But it's always so nice to get home.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you having fun with Bonnie (and on her blog too!) what fun for you guys! Time with Bonnie always goes way too fast, so I hope you have plenty of time to sew and sew and sew!
ReplyDeleteI only live a couple hours from Mary Jo's so friends and I make the trip every couple of months if we need it or not!
ReplyDeleteAll good things must come to an end. Have a safe flight home. Treasure your new memories.

Looks like you all had a wonderful time! Did you find some nice treasures at Mary Jo's? Save travels home.
ReplyDeleteMe alegra verte tan feliz y disfrutando de coser !!!
ReplyDeleteedredón antiguo es como un sueño
buen fin de semana
I think that shop might bring on a migraine, it would so overwhelm me!
ReplyDeleteOn the humble block--the corners look like a different green altogether, and it looks like at least one of the squares was pieced with an attempt to match the stripe. "Make do", indeed!
Sounds like you had a wonderful time. The best times are with good friends! Safe travels home.
ReplyDeleteI know from reading Bonnie's blog too that you all had a wonderful time together. Such a great thing to do! Hope you settle in happily and are ready for some creative fun at home Lori!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous retreat! What a wonderful block! The maker was so free with her stripes - I love it!
ReplyDeleteDid the humble block quilt top come home with you ?
ReplyDeleteLizzy
It has been fun to read all 3 blogs and to see Mona fit right in. I love the enthusiasm of a new quilter! So, did you buy that humble piece?
ReplyDeleteYou had a wonderful week! Have a safe flight home!
