Airing of the Quilts Show

I showed you a couple of Bill's quilts he had on display, but I neglected to show you these beauties.

What a special quilt! Look at the photo below.

I love how they changed it.

Grand Illusion. designed by Bonnie Hunter. I sent her a text photo while I was there. She is always thrilled to see quilts that others have made from her designs.
I thought this was unusual, but whimsical and modern too.

Of course, I love seeing wool work.
These were more from Bill's collection. If I remember correctly his mom purchased this and held onto for years and only recently given it to the Bill Volckening collection. :)

This one was amazing. I'd like to examine it closer and see exactly how they put it together.

I love this tree!!

One of his latest acquisitions. Hoot -Hoot!
On our way to the coast we saw this barn with quilt blocks!

Have a fantastic weekend!

  3. Thanks for the quilt show. Do you think the amazing quilt (picture 9) is made of different fabrics or is it a psychedelic sampler quilt that is drawn and that you color as you wish?

    1. A 1970's crazy quilt and looks like it was amazingly difficult to put together!! And it is made with all different fabrics.
I hope you see this Carole, because you are no-reply and I have no email address.

  6. I'm fascinated by the reworking of that first quilt. It would never have occurred to me to do such a thing, but how delightful it looks!
Really love the tree quilt, but there are so many interesting quilts here.

  8. That crazy quilt intrigues me. I am wondering what are the black lines? I think this must qualify as an "Everything but the kitchen sink" quilt!

  13. I like the pine tree quilt. Those blocks look easier to piece than the block I just made. And I like that it has a few triangles in red.

The floral quilt on black is a special looking wall quilt. I assume it is wool on cotton.
