I didn't have a lot of energy or brain power to do much sewing but I had to do SOMETHING! So, I made backings this weekend.
I don't have many large fabric pieces and if you've seen many of my quilts you'll know most of my backs are pieced with a variety of fabric.
I'm planning on Baptist fans for this quilt.
Backing for 9 patch/ snowball
Fan quilting on this one too.

Not too exciting for a Monday post and for some reason I couldn't get the photos to load the proper direction.
Have a wonderful Monday!
You have been busy. Hope you are feeling better
ReplyDeleteYou have been one busy productive girl! Love the backings
ReplyDeleteI like pieced backings on a quilt. Fun to include some pieced blocks in them too but seems like it takes more fabric to work around the pieced blocks.
ReplyDeleteMaking backs is harder than it seems - good for you!!!
ReplyDeleteYou've been busy so I hope that means you're feeling better! I hope one of these days to make a snowball quilt. Baptist fans are one of my favorite quilting designs.
ReplyDeleteAre you feeling better? I hope so!
ReplyDeleteLove the pieced backings. Seems appropriate to me--it makes sense for "humble quilts" to have "make do" backings!
Those are some lovely fabrics made into great backings! Good for you you made these. Hope you are feeling a bit better.
ReplyDeleteI love these pinks and browns !!
ReplyDeleteYour backings are so wonderful and I hope you feel better.....
Oh my, you are backing up a storm! Hope you feel MUCH better this week.
ReplyDeleteI love pieced backings and I think it's fun to see yours! I find that if I rotate my photos and rotate them back to the direction they are supposed to be before I load them to blogger, that it keeps them upright. Maybe try that and see if it helps. It's an extra step but it's the best I've got. :)
ReplyDeleteI also love pieced backs, but I don't make them all that often. You've inspired me to do more!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of backs! You will have some lovely finishes when these are quilted!!
ReplyDeleteI recognize quite a few of those pieces you've sewn into backings. It feels good to move a few pieces out of the piles.
ReplyDeleteLori, I hope you're feeling better! Getting backings done for large quilts is no small feat!!
ReplyDeleteI'll be up in Sunriver next Tuesday so hopefully we can get together during the 2 weeks I"ll be there!
I much prefer a pieced back even if it's very simple! Your fabric selection is perfect. I usually end up with some crazy pieces.:)
ReplyDeleteWow Lori, you've been so busy! I love pieced backs too, but I hand quilt so I have to think about how many needles I'm going to break if I have too many bulky seams! Some wonderful tops there, but I especially like 'jewel box' and the backing fabrics you've chosen suit it perfectly :)
ReplyDeleteI like pieced backings, especially the ones with pieces of your presidential fabrics in them!
ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely quilts there and I love the backings. I'll look forward to seeing them when they are quilted.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tops, interesting pieced backings!
ReplyDeletelovely quilts and these backings are good ideas to use with! You feel better?
ReplyDeleteNice accomplishment getting all those pretty backings ready to go! I love pieced backings, and especially love your fabrics. Baptist fans are a favorite too!
ReplyDeleteOh my! I love every backing and it perfectly coordinates with each flimsy!! You inspire me!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs!
