Wow! It is January 2, 2017! Here is the finale of the Front Porch quilt designed by Jan Patek. I made the first announcement about it April 20,2016 and now several of us have a completed top. (or will very soon)
I thought I'd show you a close up of the inner border. I tried several different fabrics and colors and this one just seems to work the best. The same with the outer blue too.
Here is Cathy S quilt. The green border looks really great! Her whole quilt is very stunning!
Debby fell behind, but thankfully she kept going and only has a sailboat mast and border to complete! It is beautiful Debby!
Thank you to all who sewed along! That accountability really helps keep me on track.
This year we are going to work on Fall Festival by Jan Patek and I'll introduce
our first block next Monday, January 9th.

ReplyDeleteYour border colors work very well. Were they from stash or did you shop for them?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the finish. Your quilt looks great!!!
ReplyDeleteDarling quilt. I like your inner and outer border choice.
ReplyDeleteWOW--beautiful quilts all--love that basket block...Happy New Year hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteYour Front Porch looks great! Thanks so much for the sew along--I never would have kept at it otherwise!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt! Especially the bike in the middle! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteI love both but I prefer the blue outer border ! That's a very beautiful work ! Congrats for this finish !
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful and love seeing the different color versions.

I love how your quilt turned out. I need to get busy and finish mine. Especially since the next sew along starts soon. Hugs
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori for keeping this going -- I can't believe it started last April!! I love seeing everyone's interpretation - they are all beautiful. Looking forward to selecting borders for mine and completing this week before the next project starts!

DeleteLove it and the border is wonderful
ReplyDeleteLove it and the border is wonderful
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all the personal tweaks each quilter did on ther top. Funny how we get caught up in a design and don't notice the size it will become.
ReplyDeleteThis was such a fun quilt to make Lori. I love everyone's. They are each unique in their own way. I'll miss joining in on Fall Festival. I'm almost finished with that one but I'll be following along to see how different each block will look. Thanks again for another great sew along!!

DeleteThey re all beautiful! Very fun project, thank you!
ReplyDeleteWow, it is huge! I love your border choices. I especially like that inner border fabric. Great job!
ReplyDeleteReally nice border choices Lori and I really like how you and Cathy S chose to use pieced blocks here and there instead of the floral. And Debby's French flavored top. I JUST finished putting my borders on. Thanks for another fun quiltalong - keeping us all on track and it's so fun to see the variations! Now.... how are people going to quilt this one???
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see what everyone did. I love your fabrics in your borders! Perfect! I like that others put pieced blocks instead of the large flower blocks. I'm stumped on the size of the rectangular strip in 3A, to the right of one of the flower pots. Any suggestions?? I cannot find the measurements for it! Once I get those done and do the bicycle, I'll be able to show you what I've done.
ReplyDeleteMy question is the same as Cynthia's..... how are you going to quilt your top? I've never made an applique quilt, let alone one this huge! So don't know much about options.... guess it's time to do some research!

ReplyDeleteI am going to have mine machine quilted in a modern allover daisy design. It'll hold down my not so wonderful appliqueing, I hope. Off white thread, prob.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a beautiful finish. Great choices for your borders. I love seeing everyone's versions.
ReplyDeleteA lovely finish Those two borders were great choices.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely quilt along!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts ladies! Congrats on your finished.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Lori! Your quilt is beautiful and I like the blue striped border. I gave up with mine, I'll try to follow your next.
ReplyDeleteApplause for all the quilters that completed their!
Greetings.
Love your pink inner border with blue flowers--perfect!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Jan Patek's designs are one of my favorites.... and yes, most of them finish up a bit larger than anticipated (i think it's the small pic on the pattern cover! lol!)
ReplyDeleteGreat Quilt Lori - very fun
ReplyDeleteThese are all wonderful but I must say that I LOVE your borders! Those stripes just really make me happy. I love how sweet and fresh the colors are that you chose as well. It's always fun to see several variations on the same pattern.
