Look what I found open in Juneau, Alaska! it was a cute shop called Changing Tides.
It was brimming full of lovely fabric and many samples. I liked that they showcased many things "Alaska".
Here is the one piece I bought.
Here was another store in Skagway. Loved the name of the shop. Sadly it was closed.
And towels are textiles, right?
I forgot how much fun it is to come back to your room to find a towel animal!
It was such a fun week and the weather was great for an Alaskan cruise. We didn't get rained on one time!
And one of the highlights was seeing Glacier Bay.
It was a terrific week.
If you want to see more of the active excursions we did, check out my other blog HERE.
Love to you all!
Those towel creatures made me giggle. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI have heard that the fabric shops in Alaska really specialize in Alaskan themes--but I have never been there to see for myself.
The scenery is spectacular. How nice that the weather cooperated. Alaska is on my bucket list!
Those towels creatures are adorable! So glad you had nice weather and a great time!
ReplyDeleteThat shop is fantastic. The owner was in and she is lovely.
ReplyDeleteSorry Rushin Tailor was closed--I loved that shop!
ReplyDeleteNo trip would be complete without a stop at a quilt store, right??
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had an amazing trip! Love the towel art!!!
Love seeing these photos. We did an Alaskan cruise in 2004, but I didn't get a chance to visit any quilt shops while there. I got to walk by a Skagway shop but didn't have time to stop if we wanted to make it to our scheduled shore excursion. I would do that trip again in a heart beat. The scenery was so wonderful and the cruise ships treat you like royalty. Loved the different towel animal every day!
ReplyDeleteGreat trip!Stunning views! I love the towel animals, someone is a real artist. And the Alaska fabric is a wonderful souvenir.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Thanks for taking us on your cruise with you ;-) I love the towel art!
ReplyDeleteThose towel critters are outrageously cute, and I absolutely love that bear quilt from the Juneau shop. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of your cruise and excursions! Love that you talk about your activities and not the food. LOL!
ReplyDeleteDid the glacier creak?
I love that polar bear quilt in the shop! Too cute! What a wonderful trip.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a great trip. Your glacier bay pictures are gorgeous! Did you get your little handquilting project done??? 😀
ReplyDeleteWe went several years ago but it was late May and the weather was AWFUL!!! Need a re-do on that cruise but in July next time! I went into the Rushin Tailor when we visited--cute shop! Can't believe they're not open every day that a ship is in port!
ReplyDeleteGlacier bay is gorgeous. Talented people that made the animals. Welcome back.
ReplyDeleteI will be going on a Holland America cruise to Alaska August 19. Love the store in Juneau and loved the one in Skagway. The batiks are awesome. So looking forward to returning. Alaska is a beautiful state to visit.
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable weather, after I told you so strongly to take warm clothes and rain jackets. We had rain almost every day. What a difference a month makes. haha!
ReplyDeleteGreat you had a wonderful time. Its a magical place to visit!
Such an amazing trip! Can't wait to see the quilt that comes out of this.
