The Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show is always the 2nd Saturday in July. But the work starts a whole lot earlier. I volunteered in the quilt show office today and while I'm not sure what can be photographed there, I always love to see how the Stitchin' Post is getting ready as well.
The town itself is a jewel and always looks so tidy with lots of blooming flowers.
I can't wait to dig into this newspaper and read about all the special exhibits.
Do any of my readers plan on attending?
Here was my view of the Three Sisters, Faith, Hope and Charity. I've climbed the higher of the 3 and plan on the other two later this summer.
Alpacas are so cute!
I'm having a great week and I hope you are too!
I'm spending that week with my Granddaughters. I have considered taking them to Sister's. I agree that Stitching post is a very busy place. It's always the 1st place I go. I am so glad to have met you and Randy last year in the Park.
ReplyDeleteI keep telling myself that I'm going to Sisters, but somehow, I never make it. My boys have both been out there several times, they even went to the South Sister to spread my sister's ashes, but I haven't made it a priority. One of these days I will.
ReplyDeleteSome of my friends attended the show either last summer or previous summer. They described it as a "small show". I say it is a small show with a lot of power. Seems like every quilter wants to go sometime in their life.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shop with so much natural light. I love how you can see the light streaming in in some of your pictures. I'd love to go to the show but in the summer I'm too busy with my kids. A good busy :0)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do a hike up there as well this summer!! Sister's becomes irresistible this time of year!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to go to this show. I would also like to visit other parts of Washington and Oregon. But this year's vacation is already planned...so it won't be this year.
ReplyDeleteI had this year bookmarked as the year to go back to this show, but alas, it's not meant to be. Lucky, lucky you!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful fabrics, that wall of blues!
ReplyDeletelizzy
Which sister is the tallest, Faith, Hope, or Charity?
ReplyDeleteI would love to come to the show but not this year. Have fun and thanks for volunteering- what a gift.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go one day! I hope you share lots of photos. How far is it from you? Can you stay home and go?
ReplyDeleteYou are going to climb two mountains this summer.... WOW and what a great thing to have done!!!! I am spending the week trying to get out of town.... family lunch.... 15 years since I have seen many of my cousins.... it is going to be grand.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I went several years ago. We camped in national parks from Illinois to Sisters and had a great trip. The city campground in Sisters was so convenient; we were able to walk everywhere. Would love to go back some year.
ReplyDeleteI would like to go to Sisters for the show, but don't know if I will. I will be thinking about it. I have been very busy sewing up a storm lately for craft shows coming up in the fall.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe its a year since I was there Lori, and tried to catch up with you. Great to be a volunteer, as it makes you feel part of whats going on.
ReplyDeleteI was there just a month too early for the show. I used to tell myself I would go to this show someday, but I am starting to think I will just continue to miss it. Always love seeing your review of the action.
ReplyDeleteThis event and store are on my bucket list! I want to go there so badly! Thanks to you, at least I get to see some pretty photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love Sisters and will be at the show again this year.
ReplyDeleteHave fun getting to all the Sisters' summits!
Thanks for sharing pics of Sisters. I always look forward to your coverage of the show and will be sure to check back.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories. =) I haven't been since year 25, I think. Fran and I always meant to go back, but it didn't happen.
