Diane Knott did the quilting after my basting/quilting fiasco. When I first saw her suggestion, I thought the pantograph looked a bit modern but I think it actually gives it a bit of a cross hatch look, so I'm happy with it.
My backing is rarely one piece of fabric. In this case it is 3.
Love this binding for it!! I picked it up at Two Thimbles last time I was in Bellingham and I had just enough for this quilt.
Just in case your Stars in a Time warp quilt isn't complete here is the link to Barbara Brackman's label- HERE.
The background to this star has fabric I picked up in France from Beauville. Such wonderful memories of that trip with my daughter.
This one was my example of an overdyed green solid which you can read about HERE. I remember when I made it I rec'd a few comments about how it wasn't accurate. I love it more just because of those comments!
Thank you Barbara Brackman for sharing your knowledge so freely! I love my Stars in a Time Warp quilt!!
yay! love it. that binding is the bomb!
ReplyDeleteWonderful finish! Great label, too!
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful, Lori! I like that some stars are light, and some dark...perfection!!!
ReplyDeleteI've done mine with cheddar too !! But I haven't this wonderful label !
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Lori !!
Love you fun Stars in a Time Warp. I have a few blocks that I saved. I used a few for my Wyoming family's new home. I like the closeups. It was a fun time learning from Barbara about the reproduction CW fabrics.
ReplyDeleteThat's the thing with social media...we all have our opinions and it's a forum for sharing them. I'm glad the comments on the green made made your choice more special to you. I collect red and green antique quilts and, in isolation, many of the greens look like they came from the palette of a 60's pop artist. I just love them! Your Stars quilt turned out great. You must have learned a lot along the way on that one!
ReplyDeleteExcellent, Lori. What a stunning choice to show off your stars! I think the simple quilting is fitting for a vintage look. Your overdyed green looks like mine. The label is totally cool! I haven't quilted mine yet, so will see about printing one. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteThat green is great. Congratulations on finishing. I found one more block and am making a mini.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous! I love everything about this quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt, the binding fabric is wonderful! Many memories associated with this quilt for you. Happy snuggling under it when the cold winds blow.
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt! Thanks for sharing! I love the stars and history.
ReplyDeleteMy friend says fabrics and tops have to age on our shelves before they’re finished!!!! Another friend who only hand pieced and quilted said “ What’s your rush?”

ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful quilt, love that bright yellow, it really sets off the other fabrics and makes it such a sunny, happy quilt.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt and quilting, love the cheddar color!
ReplyDeleteI love your choices of setting and border fabric--and binding, too. I also appreciate the switching of value placement within the stars. This is a winner!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt Lori, love it..
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this quilt! Sawtooth stars are my favorite and I also love the binding - the inner border too!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful quilt in EVERY way! Congratulations on a finish!!! Woot! Woot!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh it's terrific! Love the cheddar, the setting, etc. and the binding - just the whole quilt. The quilting suits it. That was a great series of lessons and we all learned so much. Ha ha, love the green.
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautiful finish on this quilt! Love your yellow setting squares too! This is the same setting I want to do but got stuck on background color. I need to get those back out.
ReplyDeleteOther more pressing irons in the fire at the moment, but I will and am inspired by your finish to get back to making My Stars! Great job!
ReplyDeleteLori, I've been thinking about creating a blog. I follow Down to Earth blog. She has an online workshop about developing a blog. It may be helpful to you. Here's the link https://down---to---earth.blogspot.com/2019/06/new-online-workshops.html
