Stitchin' Post

I always love to stop by the Stitchin' Post prior to the quilt show. They have it stocked to the max with new wonderful vignettes and quilt samples hanging.  Here's a breeze through the store.

Any teachers doing classes this week are completely stocked up with any supplies, books, or patterns students may need or want.

If you have never been to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, and one day would like to attend, let me make a recommendation. If you come any distance and only go on Saturday, the day of the show, you miss out on so much! Quilt show week is so exciting with lots of classes and lectures and fun quilt related things to do and see. It is fun to stay nearby and enjoy it all! I live about 45 minutes away and it is a bit too far to travel back and forth a few times during the week. I've stayed nearby for a few days leading up to the show and it makes it so much more fun!!

After my quilt shop stop I met friends at the high school for lunch. They were taking classes.
Here I am with Jo and Pam. (they are staying in cabins at Camp Sherman for the week) They are from CA and were my contacts when I made my trip to Chico with quilts, supplies and money that YOU generously donated!!  ALL the women I had lunch with were affected in some way by the Paradise fire and helped in big ways! It was good for me to see them again in better circumstances.
Thank you again for all your help!! It made a huge difference!!

We have an employee out for vacation so it has been a busy work week for me, but arranged it to be able to get to the show for a few hours on Saturday. Let me know if you'll be there! My plan is still lunch at the park around noon.
My son, his girlfriend and her mom made it to Central Oregon and were able to stop overnight and visit. Maui mom (as my son calls her) is on her way home back to Maui after seeing the kids for a couple of weeks. I don't get to see them often enough so this was great!
Here's my Instagram feed for the week. Have a wonderful weekend!!

  4. Is the outdoor quilt display only on Saturday? It must be quite an undertaking to get them all hung.

  5. The Sisters Quilt show is on my bucket list for sure! I will make it there one day. Thanks for sharing some of the photos other than quilts. I've enjoyed seeing lots of the quilts online, but it's good to see your smiling face and some of the other things. Glad you had a good time!

  6. I appreciate the advice on the quilt show. I always hope to make it someday--if I can convince hubby we don't need to go to the Scottish Festival that same weekend EVERY year. :)
I have made it to Stitchin' Post a few times, but not during the show.
And I just read about Quiltworks. How sad! Glad I made it at least the one time before it closed.
