Today I want to share a fun quilt I've had for nearly 20 years.
It's a bit of a humble quilt, but so sweet!
Who doesn't love brown and pink??
Such sweet double pinks! Love that sashing too!!
When I was involved with the Oregon Quilt Documentation they asked us to bring in quilts they could document during slow times during the day. This is one I brought in.
The fabrics were dated 1876-1900.
You can see the full record HERE.
Have an amazing weekend!!
what a great. You had me at pink.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic quilt! And, wouldn't I like 10 yards of each of those fabrics! Thanks for adding me to your favorites on your sidebar. I like to scroll through people's favorites. I find a lot of great blogs that way!
ReplyDeleteDo you have any history on this quilt block? I am making this block set straight and without triangles!
ReplyDeletePink and brown, classic and perfect. Such a lovely selection of fabrics too.
ReplyDeletePink and brown always remind me of ice cream, so of course the perfect combination! Beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the colors of the Candy at Christmas. Pink, Brown and white though.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing the close-ups
Always love close-up peeks at vintage quilts. Enjoy the views of the fabrics and stitching. Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved pink and brown. This is a wonderful quilt and would be fun to recreate. I made a mini quilt featuring one block in this design, but do not know the name of the block. Can you enlighten us?
ReplyDeleteAccording to the quilt documentation the block name is Washington's Pavement or Chimney sweep.
DeleteWhat is it about pink and brown together in a quilt? Just so sweet and charming. Lovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love it when I see an actual antique fabric that I have seen reproduced and I think the 3rd close up pic has a brown that I either have had or have seen made in more recent times. That is so cool!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking earlier today that brown and pink are probably my most favorite quilt color combo.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love the pink, and the whole feel of the quilt. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI am so smitten by this quilt and this block. I have a long ongoing project and drafted this in 6" size first thing this morning. I love the detail shots you shared--they show some clever fabric switching that is so wonderful to see in antique quilts. LOVE the pink/brown check in the 4th detail photo! Thanks for sharing!
