My friend and fellow quilter, Kevin, donated a couple of his patterns for a giveaway!
Thank you Kevin!
One of these will be given away on my facebook page and one of them here on my blog. If you are part of both you get 2 chances to win! Leave a comment here and on my Facebook post with the pattern. (I'll post it first thing Friday morning on Facebook)
Our Thanksgiving day didn't quite go as planned because of a good dumping of snow. I did get out for a chilly walk with Elsa. The roads are a sheet of ice so I put on my spikes on over my boots.
Haven't seen Mr Stinky in awhile..
I only had a whole chicken to bake and we were laughing that he was "carving" the bird!
I hope your day was wonderful and your weekend will be terrific as well!
Be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win!
A turkey, a chicken, how fun! As long as you were giving thanks for your blessings, right? My SIL is all by herself and she cooks up a Cornish hen every year for Thanksgiving. I say perfect! Thanks for the opportunity to win a pattern. I missed out on Kevin's Gracie Lu Rail Fence class with my guild due to travel plans. Would love to win it!
ReplyDeleteI am so thankful that we dodged the bullet and only go a dusting of snow where we live, and only had to travel 8 miles to our daughter's home for smoked brisket, ham and ribs made by our s-i-l. Really nice gathering with 3 of our grands and s-i-l's family. Thank you to you for the chance to win one of Kevin's patterns that he so kindly donated (thank you Kevin) - they are both fun looking quilts! It is now time to turn on a podcast and sit down at the sewing machine!
ReplyDeleteHUGS... and stitches
Gracie Lu's Rail Fence is really pretty. Great time of the year, even if you don't have company!! Our families live too far to visit, but I am still thankful that they are healthy and doing what they love!!
ReplyDeleteOur Thanksgiving meal was non-traditional as well since our bathroom is being remodeled. The house is not fit for many guests and I had no ambition for cooking a big bird, so we grilled out! Even though we had to walk through snow to get to the grill, it was all good. I really like Gracie's Rail Fence pattern as I could use up a pile (or two) of scraps!

I got Goodnight Darlene when Kevin came to both of my quilt guilds last May. Now to make it. We just cooked a turkey breast in the crockpot. Super easy to carve.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to win either of Kevin's patterns!! He's coming to our Guild in April 2020 and will be teaching Goodnight, Darlene! to guild members. I'm SEW excited!
ReplyDeleteLove both of Kevin's patterns and everything you both do to keep us connected and having virtual fun throughout the year!!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet of Kevin to make this offer. Thanksgiving was spent working in the church kitchen making it a perfect day for us.
ReplyDeleteHow kind of Kevin to donate these two lovely patterns Lori. Looks like fun for Thanksgiving. Carving that 'bird' looks like a job in itself!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kevin, for getting in the giving spirit. I'd love to make Gracie Liu's Rail Fence. In fact I have some blocks already made that can go into it. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! I love reading Kevin's blog. It would be fun to have one of his pattern. Thanks for the chance to win! You do have a little snow! Thanks for all you do ! Have a great day!

ReplyDeleteWow, a White Thanksgiving. Happy day after Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteSeen your report on the snow fall. Glad to hear all were safe. Love your work and those of Kevin. Peace to all
ReplyDeleteWe will be getting that white stuff from your way into our N'east this weekend. I also had the 'mini' turkey (roast chicken) as it was just myself and Mom - who just suffered another mild stroke. We kept her day low key on her request. So happy to see Kevin now releasing patterns and would so love to meet him in person.
ReplyDeleteWinning one of Kevin's patterns would be a great way to end the month of November. Thanks for the opportunity to enter!
ReplyDeleteHad a very hard Thanksgiving this year.Got news from the Dr. I need hip replacement surgery.I was in shock all day. Then went to make my mashed potatoes and the top popped off and pepper went in my bowl. Then had a 1 1/2 hour fire alarm in my apt.building.But I feel blessed just to be alive. There is always Christmas to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry! That sounds memorable, but not the fun kind of memorable!!
DeleteI am so happy I rarely see snow these days. I am now retired to a warmer climate. It looks pretty in the pictures. Don't fall and bundle up. Love the patterns.
ReplyDeleteThankful for my family and our health.
ReplyDeleteReady to start the new year with a new project.
Would love to win a pattern by Kevin to finish off the year!!
ReplyDeleteLove the patterns, thanks.

Gracie Lu's rail fence & Good night Darlene are both beautiful quilts! Great give away!
ReplyDeleteGood thing you stayed home for Thanksgiving your roads look terrible for travel. Glade your all safe & warm on Thanksgiving.
I hope your Thanksgiving was nice, even if you were snowed in. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
ReplyDeleteFun giveaway! Happy Thanksgiving to you and to Kevin.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I especially like Gracie Lou's Rail Fence, but both are good. Our Thanksgiving was a lot smaller than usual -- only 13 adults. That was because we issued the invitations late due to a 2 month road trip. But we really enjoyed seeing some of our family and International friends Thursday. Nancy A: SewingGranda@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteWow, great! Both are great, but I love Gracie Lou's Rail Fence. But
ReplyDeleteMr. Stinky would rate right up there!!! Hahahaaa....

ReplyDeleteCarving the bird perfection!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy Kevin's blog. Excited at the chance to win one of his patterns. Gracie Lu for me as I bought his Goodnight Darlene when he came to a local guild and spoke. I was the first Darlene to buy his pattern. Ha Ha. Thanks
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lori and Kevin! Love Gracie Lu!
ReplyDeleteI attend Kevin's scrap club and enjoy it so much. I would love to have one of his patterns. Thank you for the give away.
ReplyDeleteI was recently gifted a HUGE amount of shirtings. A low volume scrap quilt may be just what is needed. Both pics are beautiful and inviting.
