Good morning friends!
In 2019 I rented an airbnb and a friend and I had ourselves a little quilt retreat.
In early 2020 we added one other friend and in late 2020 we added one more.
All 4 of us gel well and it isn't too difficult to find a comfortable place for us to spread out.
Tomorrow we leave for our fall 2021 sewing/stitching retreat! To say I'm ready is an understatement!!
Today's job is to get the car loaded.
I used my Go! and got one quilt completely cut out, ready to assemble. I have one other project I bring with me on every retreat- its a no hurry kind of quilt. And one more.
Then I always pack basic sewing supplies.
And food!
Do you retreat? With a big group? Or close friends?
I hope your week is going fantastic!
that sounds like a great time! we are actually prepping for one this week! I will be excited to see how yours goes!! I am taking 4 UFO's ... I have high hopes haha!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the retreat!! I'm sure you will have fun and get a lot done.
ReplyDeleteYay. Cant wait.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are prepared. I go to mine next Wednesday and have already started putting my projects out at the stairs! Good friends, good sewing. Yeah to retreats ! Enjoy your time
ReplyDeleteI have retreated by myself when I just had to get away. From experience I always take two sewing machines.
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect! Have a great time 👍😀
ReplyDeleteSounds great!! Have a productive and fun time. Four friends is a perfect number. Cannot see that quilt too often—it looks so pretty on the fence❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat is the name of the quilt in the header? I love it. And would love to know the book.

ReplyDeleteEnjoy! I would love to do a retreat, but never have.
ReplyDeletegreat quilt and have a great time!
ReplyDeleteYes! I love my quilt retreats, both large and small. Four quilters in a house sounds like heaven to me.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do retreat and, as a matter of fact, just attended one Sept. 29 to Oct 3. This group of ladies has been getting together at least once a year since 2010 I think. Early on we did twice a year. And we are from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and Florida. Used to have some from Louisiana, Maine and Pennsylvania but they've stopped coming. It's a great escape for all of us and we don't have to worry about meals as that is included in our reasonable cost.
ReplyDeleteI have retreated, but it's been a long time. I like sleeping in my own bed - I feel like I'm an old fuddy duddy.
ReplyDeleteLori, I don't know why blogger eats my comments on your blog, but I have tried to comment here three times and it disappears before I finish. Maybe I'll send you an email. :)
ReplyDeleteI happens to me also. I'm just always afraid of duplication so I wait awhile and keep refreshing the page.
DeleteHosting a retreat next weekend for 25. I prefer a smaller group, but this is a larger venue.
ReplyDeleteGoing on a retreat is on my bucket list. It's just not in my immediate future due to a tight budget. Enjoy your time away.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your special time with friends! Safe travels. This weekend has been a whirlwind of catching up on small chores for me... Wishing I knew how to organize a retreat and keep it budget friendly. Will be exploring this over the winter time months and hoping for Spring or Summer! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteWe find a reasonably priced place on Airbnb or VRBO. Everyone does a meal and brings their own breakfast and lunch. It can be very cost effective.
DeleteLori have a great time with your quilting buddies!
ReplyDeleteI have never been on a quilting retreat, but I would love to! Here in Italy it’s not common to do quilts, so it’s hard to find friends to have a retreat! It seems to be very funny!
Love ❤️ your quilt on the fence
