I know many of you have seen this, but many of you may not. This is my last large hand quilting project. It took forever but was so worth it! It is on my bed right now so I get to enjoy it up close and personal every day!
I quilted motifs that the original antique quilt had.
You can get the pattern for this at Sentiment Stitches. Gay does an amazing job reproducing quilts. Her patterns are very accurate! I've done several of hers and look forward to uptown in 2022. Check it out
HERE.
I'll be ready to share later this week what I've been working on in my sewing room!
I hope you all are safe and okay after the horrific storm that whipped though the US over the weekend. If anyone hears of a way quilters can help, please let me know. For now, I love Samaritan's Purse for disaster relief. They are rated exceptional at Charity Navigator. Click HERE to see how they are helping.
Lori felicidades nuevamente por esta joya!!! esta en mi lista de hacer hace tiempo.

It's really stunning!! And you are so smart to put it on your bed where you can enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThis is a quilt I can’t see too often! Love it 😍
ReplyDeleteI have always loved this quilt of yours; the texture is just amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love waking up to a favorite quilt 😀
ReplyDeleteI never tire of seeing this one. It is so wonderful. Do you wash your machine appliqued quilts in the washer or do you wash them by hand? I just finished the machine applique on a quilt top and wondered if it will need special washing instructions. Again, such a pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteSuch a stunning quilt, Lori!! Just beautiful on your bed. I saw that pattern and thought the pieces looked so small that I would never be able to do it...are they as small as they look--or larger like yours appear in the photo? Hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteCherry tree is a masterpiece. All those circles and your lovely handquilting. Watching you make this is what inspired me to be brave and try a Block of the Month project, not as complex as this, but inspiring too. [your first Porch sewalong].
ReplyDeleteI heard Hancock’s of Paducah is collecting quilts but several posts said it is best to give money to the Red Cross.
ReplyDeleteHancock's of Paducah recommends financial contributions to the Governor’s Team Western Kentucky Tornado Relief Fund. This will get donated funds to individuals and organizations in communities across Kentucky assisting with relief.https://secure.kentucky.gov/formservices/Finance/WKYRelief
ReplyDeleteOf course Red Cross & Salvation Army are always good to donate to.
They have opened themselves up to receive donations of quilts & blankets. See their post - https://www.hancocks-paducah.com/tornado-recovery They are located about 28 miles from the hard hit area of Mayfield, Ky.
Thank you for sharing all the pictures of your Cherry Tree quilt. It is MAGNIFICENT!!! I think it’s great that it’s in use on your bed!
ReplyDeleteI've seen your Beyond the Cherry Tree before but it always takes my breath away. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is just such a beauty, I love seeing it. So crisp, the red and white. It is so inspiring that you hand quilted it. I am working on the free Poppy's Polka Dot Garden BOM from Sentimental Stitches (hand applique) and as I do, I am wondering HOW I'm going to quilt it someday. You are inspiring me to at least consider hand quilting it!
ReplyDeleteWow!! How awesome is this!! ❤️
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent. The quilting is awesome. Oh heck, all of it is
ReplyDeleteStunning. Your hand quilting is perfect. I like how you added the motif, adds so much. Your machine applique and fabric choices depict the era beautifully . Thank you for sharing again. Never get tired of seeing it.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Beautiful quilt and gorgeous quilting. It's on my 'list' but time is going by and I'm aging. I did make the Dear Jane and I'm hand quilting it. It's hard to think of another huge project when I'm in the middle of finishing a big one. I still want to make The Cherry Tree quilt but I may not hand quilt it. Yours is lovely...a work of art.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, Lori!
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely Beautiful.
