A First Look at the International Quilt Museum

Good morning quilters! Our first stop on our Midwest roadtrip was the International Quilt Museum in Lincoln Nebraska. I was thrilled to be making my first trip here! The museum link is HERE

Cool chair in the reading room.

Tobaccianna silks quilts:

These were pretty incredible!

Teeny tiny!

Who doesn't love a house quilt?

This one had tiny little 3d door knobs!

I see the arrow first. Creative and a bit humble!

I hope you enjoy this post and future posts of our quilty roadtrip!

  8. So much to love here, Lori! The Motel sign blew me away! The hand stitching on that first quilt. was amazing. The chair made me smile. Oh, those silk quilts, and the beautifully pieced geometric blocks--wonderful. The tiny pineapple blocks--swoon!! Love the house quilts--and having already seen the first two house quilts, my eyes saw the house first in the third one. I had to look for a moment after I read your comment about the arrow, to actually see what you meant. :)

  9. I live in the Miami Valley (Miami County just north of Dayton) and was fortunate to listen to Sue Cummings give her talk at a Historical Society meeting years ago. She brought many of the quilts, which I dearly love. They are definitely unique! I grew up with Hokes and Ditmers, so it is fun to see those names on the quilts. Thanks so much for the great photos (and for Donna's quilts a few posts ago - they make my heart sing!)
