Quilts! Quilts! Quilts!

I met a lovely woman last week.

Here is Bonnie in her sewing room with the gorgeous blocks on her design wall. (from a Quiltmania pattern)

I'm such a paparazzi! Thankfully she didn't mind one bit.

Here's a beauty she is hand quilting.

I think she will correct me if I am wrong, but I believe she made this one. (either her or her mother)

Incredible! Look at that fussy cut border!

Beautiful quilt!!

Her mother has recently passed away and I know she made these 1930's happy quilts.

Her mother's name is Shirley Wyngarden.

I don't make many quilts with 1930's fabric but I love them so much!

What a terrific batch of quilts. I also love that mom and daughter were both quilters!

Thank you Bonnie for letting me share on my blog.

This morning it is snowing- I had no idea it was in the forecast- well, it is winter....

Have a blessed week.

  5. Oh my!!! These quilts are gorgeous . . . every single one. I do have to say that the cheery colors and the cute theme of the one with the little houses made my heart skip a beat. It is so cheerful and happy . . . makes me want to sing :)

  7. I quilted with a Shirley Wyngarden in Marshalltown Iowa. She made lovely quilts of all kinds and donated many to Hospice.

    1. Ah, that is wonderful! It is the one and same! I have a few of her books now and the label says she had an Iowa address.

    2. My mom, Shirley Wyngarden, lived in Marshalltown till 3 years ago when she moved here to Vancouver, WA. She loved her quilting friends there. We felt incredibly grateful to spend these past years together.

  13. I love the blocks on the flannel board behind Bonnie. So the pattern is from Quiltmania? You wouldn't happen to know the name of it?? Inquiring minds and all.....
