Last year I purchased this lovely quilt top in Missouri from Jessica. I thought it was fun and quirky and still agree with that assessment.
I finally got it sent off to Sharon to work her magic. We went back and forth a lot about how best to quilt this beauty and keep the integrity of the antique fabric.
It looks like pencil writing on the one piece- 100? 10¢? Some things are meant to stay a mystery,
One dot block fabric is having some issues.
Here is the backing where you can get a good look at the quilting.
Have a wonderful weekend! Sisters outdoor quilt show is tomorrow. I'll be at the Village green park around 11:30-12:00 for lunch. If you see me please stop and say hi or join us!
It's lovely. Sharon's quilting is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love feathered wreaths. Your Quilter did a great job. Wish I was going to be in the park tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this antique Quilt.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad about not hand quilting it. When I told my Grandma that I wanted to make a quilt completely by hand, she said why in the world would you do that! Don't you know how happy we were when we got sewing machines! So I put the quilt blocks she gave me together and had the quilt quilted by machine. Margie \TN
