Peppermint Twist and Conquering Mountains!

Here is my Peppermint Twist machine quilted! The center toile was left open so I will need to hand quilt in that area. I'm not quite ready to share any more YET!

All 4 of us on the summit of Mount Saint Helens. It was a beast!

I did a lot of training with my daughter this summer and she was a big encourager. Because of her head injury she told me later hiking with a headlamp the first 45 minutes was a challenge for her brain. It never even crossed our minds that may be a problem.

Mt Hood at sunrise.

The view from the top. Straight ahead is the dome, upper right Spirit lake and off in the distance is Mt Rainier.

We had about 2miles of boulder fields. Going up was actually okay, coming down was the challenge. There isn't a designated trail- choose your own adventure! The following day I was sore from my neck to my feet!! But I believe the days put in at the gym and trail has helped me recover fairly quickly.

Thanks for coming along on my journey!

Have a wonderful week!

  1. Impressive journey! And Oh, so beautiful. How amazing to share the experience with your daughter and female friends! The pictures tell an incredible story of beauty and remnants of a tragedy not too long ago. Your quilt is equally as impressive.
