Aurora Colony Museum Quilt Show 2026

I found myself going to another quilt show! (Actually 2 of them!)

This is my favorite and I love that it last a bit over a week so there is no pressure to get there on one certain day.

Fall color is showing off! I love it!

Aurora, Oregon began in 1856 as a Christian utopian commune founded three years before Oregon became a state.

Founding Leader: Prussian-born charismatic preacher Dr. Wilhelm Keil established the settlement along the Pudding River after moving his followers from Bethel, Missouri.

Jane Kirkpatrick, an award winning Oregon author of historical fiction and non-fiction crafts her stories based primarily on real historic figures, with themes of hardiness, faith, hope and love. She has written a historic fiction trilogy about the Aurora Colony's own Emma Wagner Giesy.

The other one I love by Jane is non-fiction  called Aurora: An American Experience in Quilt, Community, and Craft

The show is at the museum and so the setting is perfect for quilts!

Both of the samplers belong to the museum

This quilt belongs to the museum.

It is hard to capture how small this was!

Of the new quilts, this one was my favorite!
