Carrefour - the European Quilt Show Part 2

This photo was taken of vineyards right from our hotel balcony.

This was a more traditional quilt display. I tried to get the makers of each one but I may have missed a couple. Enjoy!

Love the flying geese!

Love that conversation print! It pays to take a close look!

This was a favorite! Love the red quilting lines!

It is such an amazing quilt!

Not only were we surrounded by vineyards, we were surrounded by fairy tale villages!

I believe these are geraniums.

This is one village the quilts were being displayed in.

The Sainte-Croix-aux-Mines National Necropolis

History: Built to honor soldiers who died during fierce World War I combat in the Vosges mountains, especially the August 1914 clashes in the mountain passes.

Always mixing my love for history in my travels.

European Patchwork Finale- REPOST

This is a repost from October 2015. I'm heading back to Alsace and will be posting snippets in the Facebook group but not on my blog. Feel free to join HERE.

I saw some great antique quilts for sale by Jane Lury "Labors of Love". I'm not sure why she wasn't in the vendor area. It didn't seems like the antiques had a big following as this is an artsy kind of show. I knew my blog readers could appreciate the antique quilts.

When we left Alsace we went to........
Germany for a quick beer. Then on to:

The Museum of Printed Textiles in Mulhouse. It was amazing!

Look how tedious and complicated printing fabric used to be!

This was the center square where we parked for the museum. What lovely old buildings.

After that we made our way about 420km through France back towards CDG airport.

We stayed the night outside of Reims, which is champagne country. Of course, we had to try it!

The next morning we made our way back to the airport, dropped our car off and continued our adventure in Iceland. But you saw those photos yesterday That concludes my adventures to the European patchwork Quilt show! Thanks for your enthusiasm and kind words. It was very memorable!
