Do You EQ?

I know enough about Electric Quilt to do a few basics. I can play with layouts and figure out how many blocks I want and what size the quilt will be. That's about it.
Here's a few layouts in EQ and the quilt that resulted.
I have the hardest time with medallions.

So tell me, do you use EQ? Are you a whiz? Or still a beginner like me? Any great tips you'd like to reveal?
I'm going to the NW Quilting Expo today in Portland then hair appointment with DD then out to dinner to celebrate her 26th birthday!

  1. I love the quilts you made from your EQ designs. That medallion is so, so pretty! Myself, I love EQ. I teach classes on EQ. I even have some entries on my blog that are about various design possibilities you can explore with EQ. Come visit! http://terriesandelin.blogspot.com/

  3. I use EQ all the time. To really get familiar with the program I took classes on the website Quiltuniversity.com. It made all the difference in the world. They even have on on doing medallion quilts if I remember right. The printouts you do are worth their weight in gold.

  5. Yes, I EQ. However, I don't use it to its full potential. I do just the basics. I also took a few classes at Quilt University.com and it was very helpful.

  6. Cool! I have EQ but never use it. I think it's about the most non-user friendly software I've ever attempted to use (and I'm a techy kind of gal).

  7. I EQ but not with great expertise. I like seeing your EQ design and the completed quilt from it.

  9. I have an older version of EQ, I use it maily for layouts and figuring measurements. I never bothered updating because of the books I'd have to get ane the time to learn it again. I do love seeing your quilts again.

  10. I love EQ for figuring out the basics of a quilt I've seen in pictures or at a quilt show. In fact, I use it so little I've not upgraded since EQ4. I'm afraid how much (MORE!) time I'd spend on the computer if I had a slick new version. lol

  11. I used to EQ until I got my Mac... EQ is not Mac friendly. I could buy Windows, and Fusion, and EQ, then I, too, could EQ, but alas, I cannot afford all those programs, and I LOVE my Mac, so until I win the lottery or EQ becomes Mac-friendly, I won't be EQ-ing!

  14. I love your EQ designs...I need to make that a priority and get busy learning how to use it. I am so tech challenged that it scares me to death.
