The center of my jubilee quilt is appliqued! Now, to figure out what is next. This zig zag border is too big, so I have a plan B. I'll use this border somewhere just not here.
Scandinavian Christmas has been neglected for awhile. The applique is done, just two more sides of cross stitch. Until I took the photo I didn't notice how horrible the little cross stitch block looks! oh my!!
Hopefully I'll be back later in the week to show you the next test border on the Jubilee quilt!!
Your Jubilee quilt center is gorgeous. Seriously, Lori! You amaze me, in your humble way.
ReplyDeleteScandinavian Christmas looks like a really cute piece. When did it have its beginnings?
Lori- your Jubilee is wonderful so far. Mine is still in my head - the picture is getting clearer every day. I'm waiting for that big burst of inspriation :).

ReplyDeleteBeautiful block and so much small piecing, wonderful work. Looks like you have quite a few beautiful pieces going at once.

It's very difficult to get even crosses stitched on a plain weave fabric. Perhaps you will consider using a waste canvas. It's a grided 'fabric' so that you can easily cross stitch and after you're done, you damp it with a wet cloth and pull out the weave.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a beautiful quilt. Can't wait to see what's next.
ReplyDeleteThe SC is coming along too! Looking forward to seeing both of these grow.
Wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how you were coming on your project and I have my answer. Wonderful, wonderful. I have the picture of the antique block here in front of me. Yours looks so very much like the original.

Wow Lori. My head hurts just thinking how complex this block is... are you underway with the other three? It IS going to be a traditional four-block applique isn't it??!! (hehe she says with an eveil laugh!)
ReplyDeleteI need to work on my Jubilee quilt, but I've been sick in bed for a week. I think I will play with border designs with EQ till I feel better. yours is looking so good.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful progress! I love the red in each project - very powerful color. Each so unique but gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI love your cross stitch - I think it works really well with this project! But if you do want perfect squares then as said above waste canvas is the way to go ...
