Karen was kind enough to send me this test applique piece.(I don't really understand the test part) Isn't it wonderful?! I have a hunch the back of my quilt may be mistaken for the front by the time I'm done.
I made some lovely swaps and some readers didn't want anything in return. Thank you so much Julie, Kristie, Susan, and Mary. I should have a couple more packages on the way and that will be great!!
This rodeo clown is one of my favorite pieces!! It helped me decide what pattern to use and I kept going round in circles about it. I decided I would not be able to cut these pieces very small or I'd lose the charm of them.
Here's another piece I love and remember having in my stash. I have a bit of cowboy in my ancestry. Check out these photos:
Here's the setting I decided on- Smoky Mtn Stars from Bonnie's website.
love that indian. reminds me of the one on the tootsie pop wrapper.
ReplyDeleteyour cowboy project looks really fun.
happy friday
Your cowboy project is going to be fun to watch. Who knew there were so many prints out there.
ReplyDeleteNice collection of cowboy fabrics. I have a couple in my fabric stash but have never seen so many before.
ReplyDeleteThe Indian is neat. It reminds me of the little plastic toys from the late 60's that my older brother and I would play with. I think it would make a great label for the back of your quilt.
Love the cowboy pictures, you didn't say who he is.
Boot stomping fun! I like the setting.

ReplyDeleteMuch fun! I haven't noticed these prints in stores... I love them! B
ReplyDeleteI love making those Hatchet blocks! They look fun in scrappy or planned quilts. I've seen the Cowboy faces too and thought the same- I wouldn't want to chop off parts. It's a piece to be Fussy cut or used whole. Have a great week-end playing with you new to you fabrics.
ReplyDeleteI totally see the resemblance!!! vbg I'm pretty sure I still have cowboy fabric...Still need some more??
ReplyDeleteSo glad you posted this today. I was sorting though my fabrics the other day and found a cowboy FQ that I didn't even know I had. I remembered someone out there in blogland could use it but not sure who. Now I know and you are welcome to have it. Let me know where to mail to.
