It started innocently with this guy who used to be my moms.
The collection has expanded a bit. My recent favorite is the marionette on the right which my sister brought back from Italy.
Here's a bit more. I noticed after I downloaded the photos that I need to dust! Oops! maybe I'll hire my niece when she is home on spring break to come and help. Cleaning is always more fun when your not doing it by yourself.Randy of Barrister's Block and I are working on a project together for our blogs!! We will do a medallion sewalong and I hope you'll join in on the fun when we are ready.
Marian of Dream Weaver bought one of my little AAQI quilts recently and I emailed her a photo of my grandfather to go along with it. I hope you'll check it out.
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
What a fun collection, Lori. How can you not smile every time you look at it? My secret collection is Russian Matreshka dolls. It, too, started innocently enough with a gift from someone who had traveled there. I have dozens now. I rarely buy anymore, feeling things got out of control--I've even given some away. But if I see a nice one in a thrift store at a really good price, I'll cave. I only buy the ones from the former Soviet Block countries--no cheap imitations. : )
ReplyDeleteMarian's post was very nice!
If it was me I would have said, "cleaning is always more fun when you're not doing it PERIOD!" I hate to clean; to dust, to vacuum, to wash windows and scrub tubs. OHHHHHHHHHHH! I wish I had a maid :( Love your collection of Pinocchios, and I'm looking forward to seeing what plans you and Randy have for us.
ReplyDeleteYour collection is sweet! I love it ... so fun. I have my own little collections ...nothing valuable at all but make me happy when I look at them.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your collection of Pinocchios. I remember seeing so many when we were in Italy, bought one for grandson, wonder if he still has it?
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute! Not something you see everyday or in every store.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to a medallion sew along!
What an adorable collection!
ReplyDeleteisn't it fun to have something that makes you smile every time you walk by it?
ReplyDeleteWhat fun Pinocchio,s!!!
Kathie
What a darling collection. Yes, the dusting deal definitely goes by faster and better with 2 or more. Can't wait to see your Medallian QAL, can't say I'll commit, but it might jumpstart some ideas for my Gwen workshop in June.
ReplyDeleteHe's always been one of my favorite characters.
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask you what a "swagalong" is but then realized it is a sewalong. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI think you have a unique collection. I do not know anyone else who collects Pinnochio items. And you would find similar dust around my glass collection. I am trying to get that taken care of before company arrives next week.
What a wonderful collection. Don't you know that dust is a protective covering? It is important to let it be. ;)
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait to see what you and Randy are cooking up.
Great collection, don't they all come with dust? Mine do ;0)
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great picture of your grandfather! I am looking forward to the sewalong - a medalion quilt will be something different. So long as you don't let dust settle on your sewing things :0)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I never knew you had a thing for Pinocchio!! They are great!! And, yes, our little sow-a-long is going to be fun! Now if I can just get my blocks done, I'll be happy!
ReplyDeleteHe's a dearly beloved character and obviously you feel the love!
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible at dusting too :)
What a great little collection!!! I wouldn't worry too much about the dust, most quilters have dustLOL!!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting collectible and to have it start with one special piece...I suppose that's how they start. Lol. I was glad to see the dust as its a sign of a busy quilter! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a special collection. Absolutely wonderful!!!! (dust?? what dust???? I don't see any dust......)
ReplyDeleteI'm a collector too. I didn't realize we had so much in common, I collect dust too!
ReplyDeleteOHHH how very cute, i love him and i love your growing (obsession)collection too!!! i'm a collector too.. of way too many things including dust LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to my blog :))) cheers...Marian x
Yes a medallion sew-a-long is just what I need right now. I think I have just the piece for the centre and was trying to figure out how to do it.
ReplyDeletelove your collection Lori -
ReplyDeleteI'll have to keep an eye peeled for you.
dust? pish posh, is the queen coming? lol
Lori, you're the first person I've come across who collects Pinochio items and it's fun to see all the items you've amassed. Have always loved that story of the puppet who becomes a real boy.
ReplyDeleteGail :)
