This is how I built my outer border. I just laid out approx 3 1/2" strips in various widths until it looked long enough. I sewed it, then trimmed it to the size of the center.
I sewed it to the top and bottom first, then built the other sides. When all four borders were on, I trimmed the outer border 3 1/4" so overall my quilt measures 15 1/2.
I'm going to get it basted today since I am going to see my dad in a few days. I always like to have a project to work on and this one will be perfect.
Have fun and happy weekend!!
Looks great Lori! I have mine cut out but haven't sewn a stitch yet. I look forward to seeing how you quilt yours.
ReplyDeleteHarmony is on my list! It's scrappy and a mini... what's not to love?

Oh it's fabulous! Great combination and looks like an antique!
ReplyDeleteYour Harmony is wonderful, Lori. I have fabrics laid out but need to stop by the quilt store for a good blue. I'm looking forward to seeing Abundance and Harmony together.
ReplyDeleteIt s so cute! i want mine to be crooked, that may be the hardest part? Probably NOT, for me...lol.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any info or history on this little guy?
thx!

Very cute, Lori. I'm doing a lot of self talk to try and convince myself that I can turn the HSTs like these are, and do the randomness of the border. Sometimes being type A can really be annoying. : )
ReplyDeleteJust lovely Lori!!! I'll definitely be making this little one!!!!
ReplyDeleteIsn't these one just too fun?! You were quick.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Great work.
ReplyDeleteYou are so fast. Harmony is so pretty! Can't wait to see it all quilted.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it finished. It's looking great! Have a great weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteLove it!! Good job. It's on my 'bucket list'. (smile)

ReplyDeleteI finished my top yesterday and got it quilted. I am binding today. Thanks for another great QAL!
ReplyDeleteIt is so cute! I'm not doing it now, but might later. I have so many projects I need to work on, plus I'm counting down until around May 17 when we leave for OR!!! Will try to connect with you sometime while there.
ReplyDeleteLove it lori! I wish I could have played along with this one - maybe someday I'll do it, I just love the look.
